The alarm clock rang as early as six o'clock. She was far too lazy to turn it off.
"Evelyn,up now. You are going to be late and on your first day" Mrs Smith said whilst shaking her.
"Mum,just a little while longer".
"Nope,up now".
"Arrrrrrrrrrg".she wailed endlessly as she got up and went straight into the bathroom. She had her bath, humming to the tune of 'seniorita'.
She freshened up, putting on her uniform. The shirt was a white long sleeve. It's tight nature gave her a fitting shape, the skirts blue color was a perfect replica of her eyes although slightly above her knees, finishing the look with white spotless socks and a black shoe to match.
"Evevie, dear do you want your eggs scrambled or do you prefer sunny side up eggs".
"Anyone,mum I'm going late.".
"Don't worry your dad will drop you off at school, okay".
"Ok".she said coming down the stairs, looking all elegant with her hair packed in a ponytail.
"Gud morning dad".
"Gud morning dear and are you ready to go to school?".
"I guess".
They ate in silence until Mrs Smith broke it..
"Honey,can you promise me something?".
"What mum?".
"You won't isolate yourself this time. You're no longer a kid....."
"..... make new friends, okay."
Evelyn sighed
"Okay,I'll try".
.....
"Sweetie, into the car you go".Mr Smith said holding the door open for her. The gateman opened the gate and they drove off, leaving Mrs Smith waving from behind.
Ringgggg Ringgggg,her phone rang.
"Ted". She hasn't gotten used to seeing that name appear on her phone.
"Hello"
"Hey, you haven't arrived yet?".
A smile was visible on Mr Smiths face as he stared at his daughter through the mirror. Evelyn definitely felt a blush crawl up to stain her cheeks.
"Dad, concentrate on driving, okay".
"Right,pardon me".
"Hello". Ted reapeted over the phone.
"Yeah, I haven't but I'll be there soon ".
"I'll inform the entire class that a beauty made by the goddesses will soon grace us with her presence".
She laughed so hard, she could feel her cringe in pain.
Ted has always been a total clown, completely Kookoo. He was her childhood friend. As kids, they were inseparable but now she couldn't even get the thought of having to like him. He would be a target for other girls but definitely not to her. Relationships had always been something she couldn't bring herself to do. She was described as unappeasable by her friends in her previous school, some said what she wanted would be out of the natural realm. She never argued as she had always enjoyed anything fantasy although the thought of those things being real scared her.
"Don't make me laugh too much,Ted. I'll be there in a minute".
"Alright then, I'll see you".
"Sure".she said and hanged up.
"You're telling me, you don't like him".
"No daddy,I don't. Could we not talk about this".
"Okay princess. But don't worry you're supposed prince charming would come and I'm sure he'll be out of this world".
"Think whatever you want to think dad,I'm no t interested in these things soooooo I don't think anyone is coming. Don't get your hopes up".
She said smiling out the window. She continued not expecting a reply from him
"....I want adventures dad, someone who would get me without me saying anything. Something magical, something that hasn't been experienced by anyone else. That's what I want."
"You know I just realized you're friends were right you have gone nuts ". Mr Smith said laughing.
"Quit it ,dad".

She alighted from the car and immediately rays of light bounced off her hazel brown hair; everyone stared at her as she walked into the hallway. She trailed her fingers through the lockers as a bright smile spread across her face. She thought to herself"... probably this might not be so bad".
"Evelyn..."someone called across the hallway. She turned to meet a smile of a young woman clearly in her late twenties "... you're Evelyn right?"
"Yes,and you are?".
"I'm Mrs Luna and I'm the art teacher".
"Any art?".
"Yep, music, paintings and all that. I'll guide you through school rules as we walk to the superintendent's office".
"Okay ma'am".
She walked on eagerly waiting to see what this school to offer. As they went in deeper noises could be heard. She knew they were approaching the school's cafeteria.
Mrs Luna pushed the door open and ushered her in, there was dead silence now as everyone was concentrated on the new girl. She smiled in Ted's direction and it seemed like everyone got the message. All eyes went to Ted as if searching for answers without asking questions. They walked past the cafeteria, climbed the stairs and headed for the superintendent's office. They stopped staring as they disappeared into the office.
