Chapter 1 - Falling Down

Something happened. What was that? Whatever fell from the sky—did anyone see it? Why hasn't anyone come to check? It was huge, man. Massive.

Brother , where is it going?

I'm just standing here, watching it from a distance.

Brother , be careful. It's getting dark.

Alright, I'll sleep soon. I'm just keeping an eye on it…

Ok, I'm watching it when—someone yelled ! "Stop right there!" A cop just fired at me! I panicked and ran because I wanted to see what it was… I didn't even make it home. The cop saw me running and started reloading to shoot again—"stop!" A bullet hit my leg. Blood soaked my uniform.

After the pain, I passed out. I woke up at dawn. I realized I was close to where it happened. My wound felt… weirdly healed. Then I went to school.

The teacher called roll:

"Darmu?" Here.

"Michael?" Here.

"And me Mule?" Here....

I noticed something: all the students were acting strange. I couldn't figure out why. This whole school felt… off.

My buddy Musmac whispered: "Yo Mule, where were you all day? I didn't see you. Bro, why are you just standing there? Look—we have exams tomorrow! Are you ready?"

I mumbled: "Nah, not yet… I'll study tonight."

Musmac shrugged: "I'm not ready either. But listen—join my study group tonight. Good luck, man."

At noon, I met Musmac and four others—three guys and a girl. We quizzed each other for the exam.

Out of nowhere, Musmac asked: "Bro… what's that three-legged thing walking over there? Huh, do you know?"

Sesto said: "I know it, but I forgot its name… It's the thing that carries stuff."

We kept throwing out wild guesses until a call interrupted us.

The voice said:

"Hey kids. For tomorrow's exam… I've got the papers right here in my hands…"
