Angel Island · Celebration Feast
The sky above Skypiea was covered in brilliant fireworks, their multicolored lights weaving a fantastical galaxy in the sea of clouds. They were fireworks of celebration, a symbol that the shadow that had oppressed everyone for years had finally been lifted.
For the first time, the people of Angel Island and the Shandian warriors sat in the same plaza, around the same feast, drinking the same wine, and sharing the same laughter.
Gan Fall, dressed in his old knightly robes, stood solemnly on a high platform, with the Shandian chief, Wiper, at his side. The two leaders of once-hostile factions now stood shoulder to shoulder.
Gan Fall took a deep breath and looked out at the crowd. "For four hundred years, we have hated each other, fought each other... countless lives have been lost in this sea of clouds." His gaze swept over the elders, warriors, children, and mothers in the crowd. Every eye was listening. "But today, we finally understand that our true enemy was never each other."
Wiper nodded, his fist clenched, his voice firm. "The root of our hatred was obsession, our inability to let go of our desire for the land."
The crowd was silent for a moment. Then, a Shandian warrior gently took the hand of an Angel Island woman. Some bowed their heads and wept silently. An elder patted the shoulder of an old foe, choked with emotion.
In this moment of gentle transformation—
In the center of the feast, the aroma of food was rich, and the atmosphere was lively. Luffy, Ace, and Roy were gathered around a huge pile of Skypiean delicacies, eating heartily.
"Slurp slurp slurp—Barbecue!! Ten more plates!!" Luffy yelled indistinctly, his mouth stuffed with meat skewers, his cheeks puffed out like a chipmunk's.
Ace sipped on coconut juice and looked at him with disdain. "Your table manners are even worse than when you were a kid..."
"Hm?" Luffy looked up, a cloud-fish bone still hanging from the corner of his mouth. "Huh? I've always looked like this!"
Roy propped his chin on his hand, watching them bicker with a smile. As if suddenly remembering something, he said casually, "Mmm... you know, Shandora is real."
"Pfft! Cough cough cough!!!" Ace choked on his drink, spraying it all over Zoro. "Captain Roy, what are you suddenly talking about?!"
"Aaaargh!!" Zoro pulled out a napkin with a look of disgust. "You're drinking your own drink, why'd you spray it on me?!"
Law pushed up the brim of his hat, his lip twitching. "...That's a lot of information to drop at once."
Just as the group erupted, the entire feast fell silent. Gan Fall and Wiper turned their heads slowly, mechanically. The residents of Angel Island and Shandia stared with wide eyes, their expressions shifting from confusion to shock, and from shock to—
"WHAAAAAAAT?!!!!"
A deafening roar of astonishment echoed through the feast. The people of Angel Island and Shandia stood up almost simultaneously, chairs toppling, plates flying, the air filled with a clattering cacophony.
"Shandora?! You mean... it's real?! The Golden Bell from the legends?!"
"But wasn't that supposed to have sunk into the White Sea?!"
"We've been searching for four hundred years and haven't found a trace!!"
Luffy's eyes lit up. "Huh?! Gold?! Where? Is it behind the meat?!"
Ace was still pounding his chest, coughing. "Captain, are you drunk? Did you just say something insane?!"
The crowd was in an uproar, steam practically coming out of their ears. Just then, Roy slowly stood up, his smile calm and composed.
"It seems everyone is quite interested." He waved a hand—
SWOOSH!!!
Space suddenly trembled, like the surface of a gently disturbed lake. Everyone's vision blurred, and they heard the sharp whistle of wind rushing past their ears, as if they were traveling through a thousand years of time.
When they opened their eyes again—
WHOOSH—!!
They were met with a vast, golden light, so brilliant it was almost blinding. Beneath their feet were streets paved with golden bricks, glowing with a warm yellow light. Palaces stood all around, with ornate carvings and golden pillars soaring into the clouds, as majestic as the ruins of a divine kingdom. The entire city looked like a miracle crafted by the sun itself.
It was the legendary city of gold, Shandora. The ancient city, said to have sunk into the depths of history, now stood quietly, tangibly, before them.
"This... this is..." Gan Fall's body shook, his pupils trembling. He fell to his knees with a thud on the golden bricks, tears streaming down his face. "Shandora... the City of Gold... it's... it's real!"
Wiper's expression changed dramatically, his eyes reddening. He knelt down, pressing his right fist to the ground, his voice a low rumble. "The 'ancient city' our ancestors spoke of... it truly exists in this world!"
At that moment, the people of Skypiea and the Shandians were all stunned. The story that had been dismissed as a "myth" by their priests for so long had unfolded before their very eyes. Some gaped, unable to speak; some collapsed to the ground in excitement, their vision blurred by tears; many more unconsciously reached out to touch the bricks, the walls, the golden pillars, just to confirm it wasn't a dream.
"WAAAAAAAAAH—!!!" A high-pitched, excited scream suddenly rang out. It was Luffy, his eyes shining as he jumped up and down. "It's so big! So bright! It's all gold! This is so cool!!" He rushed to a massive golden wall and spread his arms, rubbing against it back and forth, a grin stretching from ear to ear. "Hehehe~ I wonder what meat made of gold tastes like!"
Ace stood to the side, looking at the sleeping golden city with a rare expression of solemnity and respect.
Sunlight poured down from the top of the sea of clouds, illuminating a corner of the golden city and reflecting a brilliant golden light that filled the sky, like a divine kingdom sleeping at the end of history.
Zoro slowly walked up a flight of stairs and stood before a tilted golden pillar. He tapped it, and a dull echo sounded. "It's even more solid than I imagined."
Kuina stood quietly by a broken golden step, looking down at the patterns that had been eroded by time but still shone. She reached out, her fingertips gently touching the ancient script, her gaze filled with both reverence and contemplation. "This city... carries so many silent vows..." She looked up towards the main tower and murmured, "So 'miracles' really do exist."
Standing beside her, Law said nothing, simply observing the city's structure with a complex expression. "A city made of gold..." he commented in a low voice. "It's so irrational... but also so magnificent." He pushed up the brim of his hat. "Perhaps... the miracles of history don't need logic."
Meanwhile, Roy had quietly walked alone into the deepest part of the golden city. His expression was calm, his gaze like a mirror, his steps as if treading on the river of time. All around him were the glorious ruins left by the ages—broken golden pillars, collapsed temples, stairs and murals consumed by greenery, all seeming to whisper ancient legends in the light and shadow.
But Roy didn't stop. He looked up, his gaze piercing through the layers of clouds to the true core that had been "lifted up" by time—the Golden Bell.
Over hundreds of years, the giant vine on Upper Yard had grown wildly to the clouds, silently uprooting the entire bell tower, entangling it, and dragging it upwards, "lifting" it into the sky like a botanical offering.
Now, the Golden Bell and its entire tower were suspended hundreds of meters in the air, half-hidden in the clouds, like the remains of a sky god. The vines, as thick as pythons, were entwined around the tower, while the surface of the Golden Bell, though covered in weathered cracks, still shone with a golden light, radiating a sacred pressure in the sea of clouds.
It wasn't just a bell made of gold; it was a promise that had not been kept for four hundred years.
The wind blew through the bell tower, carrying the sound of rustling vines and a solemn whisper from ancient times.
Roy teleported to the steps of the bell's platform and stood there silently. He reached out, his fingertips brushing against the ancient script on the bell's surface, as if stroking an ancient soul. The sunlight fell upon him, and his shadow merged with the bell's, creating a scene of immense solemnity.
"The promise of Noland and Calgara—" he whispered, as if in response to the bell that had not rung for four hundred years.
"Today is the day it is fulfilled."
He slowly raised his fist. The entire Sky Island seemed to be waiting for that ancient echo—
DOOOOOOONG—!!!
He struck the heart of the bell with his fist. The ancient, sonorous toll of the bell instantly resounded through the heavens. The sound of the Golden Bell pierced the clouds, echoed across the entire Sky Island, and even traveled through the deep White Sea to the distant Blue Sea.
It wasn't just the sound of a bell; it was a vow that had crossed four hundred years of time, a hymn dedicated to ancestors and peace.
Gan Fall's eyes were already red, tears streaming down his face as he choked out, "Four hundred years... finally..."
Wiper slowly raised his fist and slammed it on the golden ground. "Our ancestors' vow has been fulfilled today!"
The high wall of hatred that had once stood between the people of Angel Island and the Shandians crumbled like the mist after the Golden Bell rang. They embraced each other, their tears and laughter mingling. Some wept uncontrollably, some fell to their knees in prayer, and some grasped the hands of former enemies, saying the words that had been delayed for so many years: "We... we finally made it to this day."
Roy stood beneath the Golden Bell, his gaze sweeping over the land of gold, his voice gentle but firm. "From this day forward, this is your shared home."
"From this day forward—"
"There will be no more war between Skypiea and Shandia!"
Instantly, cheers erupted like a storm.
"YEAAAAAAAAAH—!!!"
"Long live peace!!"
"The heroes from the Blue Sea—!!"
The crowd was ecstatic. Fireworks shot into the sky again, blooming in brilliant colors above the Golden Bell.
Gan Fall wiped his tears, walked onto the platform beneath the Golden Bell, and solemnly announced, "I propose that Skypiea and Shandia merge to form a new nation—"
"The Land of God!"
Wiper raised his arm without hesitation. "The Shandians agree!!"
"WAAAAAAAAAH—!!!"
From that moment on, a new era for Skypiea had officially begun. The ancient bell, its sound echoing through the depths of time, had planted a seed of hope in everyone's hearts.
