I grabbed his wrist and carefully placed it down. His red eyes flickered at my gesture but he didn't resist. His hands falling uselessly to his sides. My fingers trembled, so I hid them, moving closer to where Rayna was still standing by the foot of her bed.
"You've hurt your sister," I said quietly, my voice steadier than I felt. "That's something the Ravić I love would never do."
"Would you forgive me?" he asked, his tone soft, almost fragile, but there was nothing genuine about it. It was like a mask, stretched too thin, something that made my skin crawl. "I know I'm not the same, but I still love you, Rosie. Now more than ever."
