Mariah followed after Atlas, her walk nervous but hasty. "Did I behave too forwardly? Do you think she's mad at me?" She asked him.
"Why would she be mad at you?" Atlas counter asked, despite wondering the same thing in his head.
Aveline had reacted rather strangely. Never had he seen her so determined to have her way.
He didn't know how to feel about it. He didn't know how to feel about anything.
"You're going to go talk to her I guess?"
"No, I'm going to finish up my documents. Give it an hour and then go fetch her at the master bedroom in preparation for tonight." He diverted straight to his room, leaving Mariah extremely confused.
"He looks at her like he cares, but acts like he doesn't. What the heck is happening?" She questioned, as she turned around, and returned back to the kitchen.

Aveline ate every last bit of the food on the plate, and when she was done, she drank every last drop of water.
"Great!" She thought, as she heaved loudly in relief.
