Atlas didn't say a word throughout the drive back.
His hands were firmer on the steering, and his face, marred by thick veins.
Aveline would look at him at intervals, only to move her face away when she saw the burning anger in his eyes.
She wanted so badly to know what he was thinking, and how she was supposed to navigate this entire thing.
The car finally stopped in front of the villa, and he hopped out of it, leaving her to fend for herself.
Aveline let out a sigh, as she carefully gathered her things into her arms.
The flowers she held carefully, already envisioning how she would take care of it.
"Mrs Aveline?" Maggie hurried out to welcome her.
"Hey, Magic, right?"
Maggie smiled at her for using the name only Atlas called her.
"Yes, Magic," she laughed. "Let me help you with that."
She hurried over to Aveline's side, and Aveline released the paint materials to her, but held on to the flowers.
"Thank you."
"Oh don't even think about it."
