Chapter 3 - Married To The Don.

Isla's POV

He wanted me to marry him? It was crazy, but I wasn't sure I could give a response no, so I kept shut.

"You sure that's a good idea?" Dante heard the voice and turned his head only to smile.

"Enforcer, when did you get here?" Dante asked, and the enforcer smirked.

"I came to see how you were doing after a brutal gun incident, but hearing you say you want to marry what belongs to Lucas is insane."

His explanation made me confused, but I didn't care. I had other plans. None of them was going to be able to have him. Neither Dante nor Luca.

"It's going to be fine as long as she says yes. Unlike Luca, I dont take anyone against my will. If she simply refuses, I'll return her." He repeated, making his way to the door before turning to the enforcer.

"Make sure she's safe, and comfortable…" he explained, walking out of the room, leaving only me with the man I now knew as the enforcer.

I swallowed, but he only gave me a suspicious look before walking away, not uttering a single word.

I stayed in the room, but unlike the other, the window was extremely hard to escape from. I was just in the middle of everything, and didn't know what else to do about it.

"I needed to find a way to escape, but for now, I needed rest because I had been up all night the previous day, unable to sleep."

The very next day I had already planned my escape. After I was given breakfast, I noticed the door was locked, so I ate quietly, and waited for the enforcer to think I was being obedient before I made my move.

I tiptoed to the door, and opened it quietly, allowing my head out first just to be sure I was safe.

Once I had confirmed being safe, I immediately rushed out of the room, running as fast as my legs could carry me, but no matter how I ran, it seemed the hallway was endless.

"No, I must do this. I must make sure that I escape…" I prepped myself, going for another round of run, but at the end, I bumped into someone unexpected.

My eyes widened, but before I could react, he grabbed my hand, and frowned at me.

"What do you think you're doing?" He asked, but there was no response from me. I was so scared, not knowing what he had in mind for me.

"You're coming with me…" he expressed, pulling me back to the room. However, the sound of another footstep caused him to stop in his tracks.

He squinted his eyes, and then pushed me, bringing out his pistol as he began to shoot. I didn't think he was shooting at anything until the people he was shooting at finally came out, retaliating the shot.

My eyes widened, and I stayed behind him, heart pounding that was until he reloaded another bullet in a matter of seconds, and to shoot again.

Dante rushed in, helping the enforcer to finish off those men before turning to me.

"All these are happening because of you. You have to make a decision now…" he expressed, glaring at me.

But I was too scared to. It was only logical that I was scared to marry a man I had just met.

Just then, I heard the footsteps of another batch of men, and I got overly worried.

I turned towards Dante, hoping he would protect me, but what he did shattered me. He pushed me away, and started to sprint off with the enforcer.

My eyes widened. Dante was someone I trusted compared to Luca. I needed to be with someone I could trust… with that, I sprinted, tears slipping out my eyes.

It felt as though my heart was about to give out, but I kept breathing, and running, not wanting to give up.

"Dante!" I screamed, causing him to stop which aided me to catch up with him. But on reaching him, I fell to my feet because of how weak I felt. I lifted my eyes to look at him, worry on my face.

"I'll marry you, please, don't leave me here…" my statement was simple, but he got the message almost immediately.

He lifted me up in his arms and carried me until we got to the roof of his room where a helicopter was already waiting for us. The arrangement he made was super maybe because he knew Luca well enough.

We got in, wore the necessary gear, and were quick to take off before Luca's men could get to the roof, but that didn't stop them from shooting continuously.

However, we were already far gone, and their bullets couldn't get to us.

Days later, it was obvious I was in another city. I was readied with a wedding gown, and was now standing at the door of an empty church, ready to walk down the aisle.

The silence was tormenting, and the way he stood there with the priest who was waiting for me made me nervous.

I heard as my shoe clashed against the floor, giving a clock like sound. It was the only sound that echoed.

"Do you take Mr Dante Valentino to be your lawfully wedded husband in sickness and in health for richer, for poorer until death do you part?" The question was thrown to me when I got there, and I stood, wondering if I was going to regret the decision.

"Miss Isla, I'll repeat the question again," the priest announced, snapping me out of my thoughts.

"Do you–"

I answered immediately. "Yes I do…"

The same question was asked to Dante, and he gave the same response, making me feel a lump in my throat. Does this mean I was now married? Does this mean…

"I now pronounce you, man, and wife…"

The priest's words shut the final piece of doubt in me. I was now married.
