Chapter 4 - A Bargain For His Wife.

Dante's POV

I was seated in my study with files on my table. They were for an important business I had made, and for the drugs I had snuggled with me.

As I went through the files the enforcer by my side, I frowned my face. It wasn't as though things weren't good enough, but the business was new here, and I realized we still had some work to do as well.

"Is everything alright boss? You seem to be frowning your face which shows something's wrong," the enforcer said, and I exhaled.

"Nothing's wrong. Just that we have to get a lot of things set in place. It's not going to be so easy you get what I mean?"

The enforcer nodded, but then exhaled before expressing what still troubled him.

"Did you think marrying her was actually a good idea? I mean, marry her could never have been a good idea… we all know the kind of person Luca is. He's not up to your level, but there won't be any peace, and that's what I'm scared of. No peace means there are a lot of things that won't go well no matter how you see it. Do you understand?"

"Yeah I do. I really do understand." I exhaled, and then faced the document again, but then I needed a solution, so I decided to make a plan.

"I need you to arrange a meeting with him, and make sure he attends in a private bar, nothing too loud, but I need to see him because I know he has a lot in mind."

It seems my words calmed him. As much as Luca wasn't up to my level, there was still a possibility that he was powerful.

Later that evening, the enforcer came to inform me about the meeting.

"I was able to contact him, and he agreed to come for the meeting, so I scheduled the meeting for tomorrow by 8pm at the private bar you wanted."

I nodded, loving the information I had just received. This was part of a success. I already had a plan in mind and I would execute it tomorrow.

The next day came faster than usual. I made sure to make everything work out, preparing myself for the meeting with Luca.

I wondered how it was going to be, but since this was my city, I believe I had the upper hand.

As always, I put on my black suit, and aligned it with gold accessories. I looked responsive, hardly giving off the mafia look, but one look at me and one could tell I wasn't there to play.

As soon as I arrived, I was led to the VIP area where I was served a bottle of whiskey.

"Two glasses, I have a guest," I explained, and the waitress rushed to bring what I had asked, leaving me alone when I was satisfied.

I waited there for a while, thinking he wouldn't show up, but he shocked me last minute. He wore black trousers, and a black shirt that was open halfway through the button line.

He was vaping, and his hair was scattered across the place. "Luca…" I called, gesturing for him to have a seat, but he frowned. It seemed he still held a grudge with me for taking Isla away from him.

"What do you want?" He asked, but I didn't speak until he took a seat like I had told him to.

"Everything. I know you are angry about how I took her away from you, and that's why I called this meeting."

Upon hearing the meeting was about Isla, he seemed to relax a bit, his dark demure remained, but it shifted slightly.

"Finally thinking of returning her right? You should. She's mine!" He yelled, and I scoffed.

"Not any more, and that's why I called this meeting," I said, causing his eyes to widen.

"What do you mean by not any more? Are you kidding me?" He asked, and I shook my head.

"I called you here to…" I didn't even waste time. I pulled out a check from my pocket, and placed it on the table, pushing with my fingers until it was now sitting in front of him.

"That's $10million. Take that, and leave Isla alone."

He stared at it for a while and then frowned his face. "What do you think this is, a game? I'm not interested in money. I just want my Isla back. She's mine, and mine alone!"

My expression became serious. "I already told you she's not. Coupled with the fact that we have been married."

His eyes widened, and I noticed how he fisted his hands.

"I'll advise you take the money, and let her be."

"Never!" His chest rose and fell hastily, and he ran his hands through his hair, banging the table afterwards.

"Is this how you repay those that has been with you from the start?" He asked, and was breathing hard. "I have always been loyal to you, and now you want to take the one thing I want."

"I wasn't asking. I was telling you to take the $10million, but if you don't want to then I guess it's your loss."

Dante stood up, staring at the check he had left on the table. "$10million…" he expressed, and then looked at Luca again.

Luca frowned. "I don't want it, I already told you. There's nothing you'll do to make me want it, do you understand me? All I want is Isla!' he screamed, but wasn't ready to argue.

I grabbed the check, and placed it back in my pocket, walking away from the VIP bar. My eyes were fixed on the exit of the VIP lounge, but I heard what he said.

"I don't care any more. I'm going to do all I can to get Isla back. Even if it means that I have to go against you to get her, I will. Just wait for my return and always watch your back! I will get her back by all means, and there's nothing you can do about it."
