Elijah followed Alexei through the glittering lobby, scanning the polished marble floor, the mirrored columns, the oversized chandelier that glowed like a frozen sun.
The place looked glamorous and equally expensive.
He was about to voice it out when Alexei suddenly slapped his own forehead.
"Wallet," the redhead groaned, digging into his pocket as if the thing might magically appear.
When it didn't, he tossed the car key at him. "Can you grab it from the car? I must've left it there."
Elijah caught the keys with ease, suppressing the sigh. Odd that Alexei had even taken his wallet out in the first place, but he didn't bother asking.
Shoes tapped on the polished floor as he turned on his heel and walked back out to the car park.
The late sunlight cast long amber bars across the hood of his car, glinting off the matte dark color.
The wallet sat exactly where Alexei claimed, a dark brown, expensive-looking item.
