Chapter 18 - The Silent Guardian.

- The oppressive silence of the house was a stark contrast to the turbulent emotions churning within me. Since my arrival, a disquieting truth had unfurled

- Rose, the very girl I planned to observe, was an outcast in her own home. It was a mirroring of my own bitter past, a familiar sting of familial rejection.

- Yet, despite the cold shoulders and whispered slights, Rose carried herself with grace, a silent testament to her strength that bloomed even amidst the thorns of their disdain. Each forced smile she offered, each quiet acceptance of their cruelty, was a fresh wound to my own conscience.

- My role, however, was clearly defined – a mere monitor, a silent guardian against the looming threat of the principality. I was to ensure she wasn't "taken,".

- It had been a month, a relentless cycle of close calls and exterminating the threats. more than seven times, I had snatched her from the precipice of their insidious grasp, making sure no one notices, each time I saved her from them they would say only one thing, the Wrath of the principality will fall up on you.

- Until it reached the day of going back but I was unsettled of leaving her behind and went to her father Clinton. And asked him if she would go with me and he immediately accepted it without hesitation.

- I told her we are going back, Then the next day we rode our carriage back to Vale. Until we arrived in near a forest, where several men started attacking us.

- They were not bandits they were the principality's men wearing a bandit like outfits and trying to make it seem like a banditry and started to clash with our escorts.

- We could hear the swords clashing and I wanted to go and help but I didn't wanted to show her my skills. But I didn't want to sit and wait, so I decided to go and fight only to see Rose holding my coat I am wearing tightly.

- I wanted to shout at her as usual but I saw her face, she was in the verge of crying so I just closed my mouth and took my coat and started to join the fight.

- I instantly went between them killing them with my sword and healed some escorts secretly until I was in front of a man holding a sword.

- That sword was not a normal sword like any other one but a cursed sword, a tool that if you can't control it can take over you, has his own will and my became a powerful one.

- It was sheathed with a scabbard that seemed to hold the sword from beimg used but he unsheathed it and he started screaming from the pain of the sword.

- Until a little while later the sword took over him completely and started to attack me, but this sword was something different, when he swings it can change it's movement and striking an unknown place.

- I got confused of how the sword moves until it slashed my arm and a curse was placed on my arm that prevents any healing magic and inflicts a lot of pain.

- after a long fight I understood it's movements and counterattacked it until I got an opening and used 'Dark blade gale' to instantly kill the man then I used storage space to trap the sword and it's scabbard.

- I finished fighting him but my hand was aching me like it was burning until Rose got out of the carriage and rushed towards me looking worried.

- She saw my wound and immediately started to chant a spell, at first I was confused until she started to heal some of the wounds and ease the pain.

- That was her saintess ability that got activated in the early storyline in the academy days but why it got activated now, I was looking at her thinking until she said.

- " please Leon, don't tell my family about this." Rose.

- " Don't worry, I don't care about it." Isaid that to her but deep down I wanted to ask her how she activated the ability but I shut my mouth.

- " This cut on you has a curse on it, did you get attacked by a cursed thing? Rose.

- " Yeah, someone had a cursed sword so I got injured by it." Leon.

- " But if you don't treat it now something bad might happen to your arm." Rose.

- " Don't worry about that, it will eventually dispell and heal it self in a short amount of time, so mind your business." Leon.

- After that we got back in the carriage and went on our way, I was wrapping a bandage on the wound and Rose was helping me too with a worried look on her face.

- (She is helping me even though I always act bad toward her), Ithought about that but shrugged it off because it is not part of the story that Leon was good towards her.

- until we arrived the Vale city and toward the mansion, we arrived at the house and I immediately went back to my room.

- I don't want to talk to them about anything nor can handle it, so I just slept thinking only a month is left to go and start our academy life.
