Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The Black Cat

"I'm alive… I'm alive? I'm alive!

The Alchemical Seal worked! I have transmigrated!

I, Mater Evol Heracy, shall become the dark lord once more in this life!

MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"

The cat meowed non-stop as it raised its fluffy paws up and embraced the entire sky.

"Wait a minute…"

Mater looked down at his pawns. His body forced him back into the four-legged position. He couldn't continue standing up. It put a pressure on his spine and it felt uncomfortable.

Finally, Mater had realized. He successfully escaped his old world via transmigration. Unfortunately, he did not snatch the body of another human.

Instead, he became a cat. A black cat with golden eyes.

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" He screamed.

But outside, people only heard the long stretching wailing cry of what could be a cat in heat.

Mater looked down in between his legs.

"Well, at least he got the gender correct.

Curses you, Satterblade! When I get back, I'm definitely going to beat you up!"

Satterblad, the witch hunter that helped him conducted the Seal to travel across worlds. It was thanks to him that Mater was able to escape.

The two of them came from different sides of a war. But secretly, they were friends and allies.

Mater was a warlock in his past life. A treacherous magic user with the sole purpose of robbing magic from everything else to feed himself.

"They should be arriving now…"

Mater looked around carefully and examined the place he was in. The black cat was in a small alleyway with no houses or turns.

"At least he picked a good place."

Just as Mater finished his sentences, an alchemical circle appeared not far from him. Three Chaos Stones appeared in the circle before the seal disappeared.

"Right on time!"

Mater rushed to the Chaos Stones. Three dark red stones that constantly changed their current states. Sometimes they were stones. Sometimes they were three blobs of liquid. Sometimes they were three dark red clouds.

Mater opened his small cat mouth and swallowed the entire three stones. It melted into him instantly when they came into contact with his tongue.

"Nice. A cat can still absorb Chaos. Now I need to find a good place to infuse my blood."

Mater followed the light to the big road and exited the alleyway.

The scene immediately startled the poor cat and it retreated back to the shadow, observing the street carefully.

This was different from the world he had known for two hundred years. There were no horses, carriages, knights, witch hunters, nor warlocks. There were only these weird metallic objects with dark wheels running back and forth.

Its speed was very respectable as well, at least the speed of a first rank Warlock in the final stages.

"Those things… They don't look like living beings. It looked like those constructs the Alchemists like to use. Some type of transportation device, perhaps?"

Mater noticed the road was designed in a unique flat way to allow for those dark wheels to run quickly.

He paid no attention to the cars and continued walking. He stuck to the side of the road and avoided anyone that came close.

A young girl saw the black cat. She found it cute and wanted to pet it. Mater hissed at the girl then immediately rushed away, climbing on the roof of a house.

"Oh, little kitty, why are you running from me?" The girl said.

Mater hissed at her again. "You're too ugly, girl. If you were a beauty, I might have reconsidered."

The black cat ran away. Its small feet trampled on the roof of the houses.

From up there, it could take a peek down to the houses below, observing the differences in the life of these people and comparing them to its old world.

"Huh? These people have some kind of projection devices in their home. Almost everyone has it. They even have a small projection device that they stored in pockets.

This world might be very rich in resources and energy."

Mater walked around on the roof until he spotted a park in the far East. That place was vast and had a lot of trees. The only place that wasn't filled with houses and people.

Mater rushed his four legs to that park and found a secluded area to settle down. His belly was screaming inside.

"Ah… This cat hasn't eaten for days. Don't worry, my child. I will ascend us quickly. Then we can feast to our heart's desire

MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"

Mater climbed onto the branch of a tree and lay down on its belly, he tucked all of his pawn inside his meatloaf. It felt incredibly comfortable and warm.

"Now I know why cats like sitting like this so much."

Mater closed his vertical-slit cat eyes and focused on the power of the three Chaos Stones in his belly. They still existed inside him and would soon transform this body into unimaginable horror if he didn't consume it quickly.

Warlock developed their power by first creating 'Chaos Blood'.

A warlock couldn't generate mana on their own. They needed to take magic from something else or feast upon Chaos, the breaker of rules.

The first rank, Chaos Infusion, of a Warlock, changed the blood of an ordinary living being into Chaos Blood. Blood that was able to generate dark magic.

Magic had many names. The Alchemist called them Dark Aether. The Eastern Monk called them Chakra. Witches and low-grade magic users called them mana.

But for Warlocks, they called it by its original and purest purpose, Chaos.

Only Chaos could break the rules of reality and allow for the impossible to happen.

As Mater forced his will upon the three Chaos Stones, they spun in high speed, creating three spinning red circles on his chest, right at the location of his heart.

The heart of the cat beat fiercely as Chaos spread from to all the blood veins from his body. With his action, Mater was able to learn every nook and cranny of the cat's blood circulation system.

"Hmmm. Around 5,000 kilometers of blood veins. Twenty times less than what humans had."

The first rank, Chaos Infusion, was separated into ten minor stages. Each stage consisted of 10,000 kilometers out of the 100,000 kilometers of blood vein inside the human body.

The more blood veins were converted, the more magic a Warlock could store. Once all the blood veins were converted, a perfect circulation would be created and the Warlock would be able to generate their own Chaos and magic.

The cat only had 5,000 kilometers of blood veins. This reduced greatly the amount of magic he could store and potentially create in the future.

"Even though the storage is smaller. The cat has some unique advantages toward Chaos than a human. I can feel that it has an innate harmony with Chaos.

Well, beggars can't be choosers. I have no other choice than to infuse this body of a cat."

Mater retreated all the magic from the cat's body and refocused it into the first 500 kilometers of blood vein.

He opened up the ability for the blood to absorb magic and changed the blood vessels forever.
