Lucian's POV
We stood there for what felt like forever, just breathing in the cold night air.
Then I heard more footsteps. Heavier this time.
"Thought you guys might be here," Elias said. He appeared beside us, holding a bottle of beer. He handed it to me without a word. I took it, twisted off the cap, and drank. It tasted bitter. Everything tasted bitter these days.
The three of us just stood there. Staring out at the darkness. Not talking. Not moving. Just existing in this moment where everything was shit and there was nothing to say about it. Absolutely nothing to say.
Rowan opened his mouth like he wanted to say something, his green eyes widening.
"Don't," I said.
He closed his mouth, then looked at Elias. Elias looked back.
As if on cue, they both stood up.
"See you tomorrow, Lucian. Try to get some rest, please," Elias said quietly.
"Yeah. I agree with Elias, we love you bro," Rowan added.
Then they left. And I was alone again.
