Chapter 55 - CHAPTER 55: THE STRANGER WHO STOLE MY SILENCE...

It's been a week.

Pete's been losing his damn mind.

But Mek?

He's slowly been letting someone else in.

---

SCENE 1: 🍃 The Rooftop Routine

Every night now, Noah finds Mek on the rooftop.

He doesn't ask questions. Doesn't force smiles.

They just exist together.

Sometimes they talk.

Sometimes they just
 sit.

Tonight, Noah brings warm coffee and a hoodie for Mek.

> "You didn't eat lunch again. I noticed."

Mek blinks. "You watching me?"

Noah shrugs, half a smile.

> "Maybe. Or maybe I just care."

Mek doesn't say anything.

But he accepts the hoodie.

And when their fingers touch—just for a second—it lingers.

---

SCENE 2: 📾 The Secret Photo

Noah:

> "Can I
 take a picture of you?"

Mek: "Why?"

> "You look beautiful when you're not pretending you're okay."

Mek blushes. "You're annoying."

Noah grins, clicking the photo. "Still beautiful."

---

SCENE 3: đŸ„ș Pete Sees Them

Pete catches them in the hallway.

Mek's laughing—actually laughing—at something Noah whispered.

They bump shoulders like they're already close.

Mek doesn't even look guilty.

Pete's heart punches itself in the face.

> "So this is how fast I'm replaced?"

Mek's smile drops.

> "You replaced yourself the moment you let her touch you."

Pete: "I told you—!"

Mek: "I'm done talking to someone who only listens after they've broken me."

And then Mek turns around—walks away—with Noah following him.

Pete? Left in a puddle of his own rage and regret.

---

SCENE 4: 💱 A Dangerous Offer

Later, Pete's dad gets a call

> "He's growing close to that Noah boy."

Pete's dad: "Good. Let the world see Mek's disloyalty."

> "Should we tell Pete the truth?"

Pete's dad: "No. Not yet. Let him feel what it's like to lose something he didn't protect."

---

SCENE 5: 💔 Mek's Late Night Confession

Noah: "You still love him, don't you?"

Mek: "
Yes."

Noah nods.

> "Then let me help you forget. Even if it's just for a moment."

He leans in—not a kiss, not yet. Just close enough for Mek to feel his breath.

Mek closes his eyes. But doesn't move.

He's torn. Conflicted. Aching.
