After that, I only did what was appropriate and rated grocery stores and set up provisions and other things I would need to survive. Once I was finished with all that though things started to take a crazy turn. I got powers the dogs I managed to save that powers my personal dog. Well, I’ll let you figure that out in the story. And most importantly, I met someone to share my life with and he’s the best! Even if he didn’t get all years like I did. ******************************************* join Molly and her rag tag pack of dogs on a crazy adventure through the animalistic apocalypse. Chapter 1 - Well… that’s not normal.

It was a hot summer day. I was getting ready for my shift at the dog kennel. When something happened.

My whole house started to shake, Which wasn't out of the ordinary since my house has a lot of planes that fly over it. What was out of the ordinary was that there was an eerie green light that flashed in the sky.

"What the hell…" I muttered to myself. I walked over to my window and parted the curtain so I could look out. what I saw, I will never forget.

Everything outside was drying up and withering. My neighbor that was out walking their dog dried up and turned into a butterfly corpse. Their dog tore what was left of them apart and then ate them.

As I was watching this, I heard a noise from behind me. It was my own dog. she was a dachshund named Rosie, but that wasn't Rosie anymore.

She was snarling and foaming from the mouth she lunged at me, but since she was a dachshund, she was very easy for me to dodge.

Rosie, what's wrong with you?! I shouted at her, "It's me your mom!" she lunged at me again, my please falling upon her deaf ears.

I ran around the house for a while, shaking her off trying to figure out what to do. Thinking fast I went to the door That lead out to the dog yard and had her follow me.

Once we were out in the yard, I let her lunch at me and then I jerked past her, ran inside and locked the door.

Panting, I banged my head against the door. "Rosie…" I cried as tears streamed down my face, "What the fuck happened to you?! What the fuck is going on?!"

I pushed myself up against the door and let my back slide down it until I was sitting hugging my knees on the floor.

I sat there for a while, just crying and listening to her. Scratch on the door trying to get to me.

After sitting there for a good 10 minutes or so, I wiped my tears, pulled myself off the floor and walked over to my TV.

Turning it on, I switched it to the news channel, But all I got was static.

"Well… that's not normal."

Switching off the TV and throwing down the remote I pulled my phone out of my back pocket and started searching the web to see what was going on.

What I found horrified me. Apparently this started in Europe and spread it across the entire world rather quickly. Nobody knew the exact country of origin, and given the chaos that the world has been thrown into. I suspect nobody ever will.

The trimmer was felt around the entire world, and the flashing green light spread until no part of earth was left untouched.

People were posting about everyone around them drying up like a mummified corpse and then all the animals in the area going crazy and eating Whatever they could get a hold of except other crazy animals.

But what really cut my interest was reports that not all animals went insane. This brought me hope and I immediately set into action.

What I did next, would it make sense to most people but for me there wasn't any doubt in my mind when I was going to do.

I went to my workplace.

I was just praying to whatever God there was that some of the dogs there wouldn't have gone nuts and that I could save them.

Dogs were my whole world I had no human family. The family I had was Rosie and now she was gone the dogs at work where my second family and I needed to see if I could save any of them.

I know it sounds cruel that I wasn't worrying about my human coworkers but to hell with them, my fur babies needed me and I was gonna see who I could!

I went up to my room and dumped out my backpack. I had for school and took it into the kitchen. I packed it full of supplies. I would need food, water, bandages disinfectant I went into my closet in my bedroom next and I got out a needle and thread I used to patch up my work pants

I had never stitched up an injury before, but I had a feeling I was going to need to and with no experience or knowledge how to I figured that this might work in a pinch.

Working with animals, you learn a thing or two about patching someone up humans and animals alike so I wasn't knowledgeable about first aid.

After I was done with that, I grabbed some blankets and threw them in a duffel bag and then headed out to my garage.

I threw what I had so far in the passenger seat of my car and then ran back inside and got a few more things. I thought I would need like flashlight, some batteries, some kitchen knives, an old hand, cranked radio that I inherited from my grandfather that had been shoved in a closet, and some clothes I could change into if I ended up not being able to get back home.

I threw the rest of that in my car and grab a final few supplies for my garage a shovel, a tool kit, Some rope, Some jugs of water Left over from that time, the plumbing went out, and I had to drink out of store-bought water for a while, Some hedge trimmers, and a full gas can.

Luckily, for me, living in suburbia and having to take care of your yard, means you have a fair amount of supplies that apparently will come in use in the apocalypse.

I put all of that in the trunk of my car, slammed down the lid and hopped into the driver seat.

Before I set off to work, I thought to myself and ran inventory in my head to think if I forgot anything, and then the weight of everything just hit me all over again. I broke down crying behind the steering wheel.

"Why is this happening?!? Why can't my life ever just stay decent? Why must everything turned to crap right when it's getting better?"

I sat behind the wheel, just sobbing for a while then as always I picked myself up, dust myself off, opened the garage and turn the key in the ignition.

The apocalypse may be here, but I ain't going down without a fight!
