Chapter 14: Exusiai: Why Are You Shouting So Loudly!
Ren flew directly above the sports field. Below were dense swarms of the walking dead.
"Hold on tight," he reminded her. His body plummeted rapidly. Boom!!! The ground shook violently, dust rising everywhere. He had channeled all the force of their landing into the ground by manipulating vectors. The earth shattered, and all the surrounding zombies were crushed into a bloody paste. When the dust settled, both of them were unharmed.
"What was that…" Many survivors in the school noticed the commotion.
Saeko Busujima, leading a small group, also heard it. She held a sharpened, blood-stained bokken. Behind her followed four others, each carrying a homemade weapon.
"What's going on at the sports field? An earthquake?" the pink-haired Saya Takagi pushed up her glasses.
The blonde school nurse with surprisingly ample breasts, Shizuka Marikawa, tapped her chin. "An earthquake shouldn't end this quickly."
The orange-haired girl at the back, Rei Miyamoto, seemed dazed, her mental state not very good.
Just as they were guessing, a very loud voice rang out from the sports field. "SAEKO BUSUJIMA! EXUSIAI AND I ARE WAITING FOR YOU AT THE SPORTS FIELD!"
"Huh!" The three simultaneously looked at Saeko, wanting to know what was going on. Someone is looking for her? And making such a loud noise?
Unexpectedly, Saeko's pupils, glowing with a dangerous red aura, lit up, and a beautiful smile appeared. "I'm going to the sports field." Leaving that sentence, she sliced down another of "Them" and changed direction.
The remaining group looked at each other. That man would surely attract many zombies. Wouldn't going there be suicide? Finally, Saya gritted her teeth. "Never mind. I would have died long ago without Busujima-senpai. I'm going too." With her leading, the other two resolutely followed.
"You shouted so loudly! My ears are going to be deafened!" In Ren's arms, Exusiai rubbed her ears.
"Haha, didn't I warn you? Come down now." This was just simple manipulation of sound waves.
He set her down. Zombies were closing in again. "Hmph hmph, let me show you what Apple Pie can do!" Exusiai pulled out two firearms and began to fire wildly. Every shot was a headshot.
Seeing that she could handle one side, Ren dealt with the other. Palm Thunder! He released black lightning, striking and killing a large group with one blow.
Exusiai pouted. "Not only can you manipulate vectors, but you can also emit lightning? That's too unfair!"
"Don't get distracted." He raised a hand, and a powerful gust of air blew away a zombie getting close to her.
"Oh, oh! Not the time to relax. Overload Mode! Barrage!"
"Damn things!" Saya and the others followed Saeko, desperately fighting their way through. They were almost at the sports field, but zombies were converging on them.
Suddenly, Saeko stopped. She stood rooted to the spot, staring blankly ahead. "What's wrong?" they rushed forward, then they too were stunned.
A circular crater had shattered the ground. The outer edge was piled high with zombie bodies. At the center, a man and a woman were frantically slaughtering the dead.
The red-haired woman, with a halo and wings, had guns floating around her, sweeping across the horde like a technological angel. The black-haired man constantly released black lightning, bombing one group after another.
"Are they angels?" Shizuka covered her mouth in shock.
"They look more like espers," Saya calmly analyzed. She looked at Saeko. "Are they your friends?"
"Friends… yes." Saeko was also shocked, but she was calmer. She shouted, "Ren-kun! Exusiai! I'm here!"
The two saw her. "Okay, we'll be right over. Exusiai, follow me."
Five Thunder Rectification: Yin Thunder - Northern Realm Azure Pond! The domain expanded. Black, viscous liquid spread across the ground, indiscriminately attacking approaching zombies as black lightning and life force absorption proceeded in parallel. Bringing Exusiai, he ignored the horde and rushed to Saeko's side.
