Chapter 42: No Tsundere! Bold Eriri!
A few days later, the matter was concluded. Ren found someone from a certain conglomerate to help. With their investigation, they found surveillance footage of Eriri's father's abnormal behavior and the video of him entering with a knife. Coupled with some public opinion guidance, the matter was categorized as: Eriri's father, driven by love-hate, was accidentally killed by Sayuri in self-defense. Ren was merely a witness.
However, due to negotiations between the British side and the Spencers, it was decided to rule it as a sudden death due to an underlying illness. This preserved everyone's face.
"Tsk, if only I had a mind control ability," such a thought arose in Ren's mind.
"Thank you for your trouble, Ren-kun!" Sayuri bowed deeply to him.
"It's alright. I have no one living here anyway."
After this, Sayuri and Eriri decided to move. They moved next door to Ren. His building had two units per floor, but for quietness, he hadn't rented them out. Sayuri directly paid to buy the unit.
To relieve the pressure and for the housewarming, she cooked a sumptuous feast and invited him over. The three of them celebrated. Incidentally, Ren supplemented them with some basic information about evil spirits, worried they might awaken their spiritual vision.
After dinner, Ren returned home. He had a drink, showered, and sat on the sofa, bored. He turned on the TV and found some news about special phenomena: an enormous comet passing by Earth again, and strange, unpredictable heavy rain in Tokyo. "Could it be an extraordinary factor?" he pondered.
On the other side, at Eriri's house, after tidying up, the mother and daughter went to bed. Sayuri, exhausted, just wanted to sleep. Click. She opened her eyes. She heard a sound; it was Eriri's room door opening. Then, faint footsteps. Click! This time it was the front door. What is Eriri doing? she hesitated whether to follow.
"Knock, knock!"
"Hmm?" Ren got up, puzzled. He walked to the door. "Eriri?"
Unexpectedly, it was her, wearing a thin, silky nightgown, standing timidly at the door. "Is there something you need?" he asked.
She clasped her hands, her eyes darting around, her cheeks flushed. She stammered, "I… I'm scared. I… I want to sleep with you." As if afraid he would misunderstand, she immediately added, "It's only because you have superpowers and I feel safer that I came! Don't misunderstand!"
"Oh?" Ren revealed a knowing smile. "Alright. Let me protect Princess Eriri's beautiful night."
With that, he surprisingly scooped her up in a princess carry. "Woah!" she was startled but didn't struggle, nervously and shyly clutching his clothes. Her tsundere emotions didn't show at all.
Seeing this, he closed the door with his foot and took her to the room. He laid her gently on the bed, her heart pounding in her chest. He leaned over her, his golden eyes gazing into hers. He didn't rush, but slowly lowered his head, giving her a chance to refuse.
She didn't. Instead, she closed her eyes, her lips trembling slightly in anticipation. That was all the signal he needed.
"?????" Sayuri was lying in bed, just thinking about Eriri, when she heard movement from next door. The sounds were faint but unmistakable. The rhythmic creaking of a bed, a soft, suppressed moan… "!!!!" In just an instant, she understood what was happening. Her daughter… her precious daughter…
