[ A Mid-Class Grade One Underbeast -- Grolly Bird (No Bloodline) -- has been successfully slain. ]
[ Underessence has been successfully extracted.
Would you like to absorb it?
{ Yes } - { No } ]
"I will stick to Core upgrade for now." Saquin decided after a short moment of thoughts.
[ Use extracted Underessence to upgrade Core?
{Yes} - {No}
]
"Yes."
[ Low-Class Grade One Core {Wing of the wingless} upgraded to Mid-Class Grade One {Wing of the wingless} ]
"Oh, a direct upgrade to a new rank."
[ Wings of the wingless -- Mid-Class Grade One (0/100)
Description: A Core item that grants the user flight ability. Careful, the wings are harder than steel and are very sharp. ]
After the checking the Core's description, Saquin silently extended a wing out. He made a cutting motion with it, aimed towards the trunk of the tree he stood on.
Slash!
The wing easily cut through the tree's bark.
"There was practically no resistance. So this is the Mid-Class Grade One Grolly's Bird attack method."
Saquin directed his gaze at the wings of the dead Grolly Bird and sure enough, the end of the wings were pretty sharp.
"Well, enough of this, time to focus on the obtained skill. It seems what can be obtained from the Underbeasts is not limited to Cores. Is it possible to maybe get their bloodline?"
As Saquin wondered about this, he willed the skill obatian screen to appear.
[ Skill Obtained. ]
[ Skill: Aerodynamics(Passive) { What do you know about Flight? What do you not know about Flight? } ]
[ Absorb skill? {Yes} / {No} ]
"So, all skills description are just that vague. Noted." Saquin said. "The basic of this should be about providing me knowledge about how to fly, sort of like the Assassination King skill."
"Yes." He responded.
[ Skill successfully absorbed. ]
A rush of information flooded Saquin's head in seconds. Thanks to his now heightened mental capabilities, it barely affected him negatively.
Soon he opened his closed eyes as he took a deep breath in.
"Note to self, next time absorb skills in a safe spot."
Saquin shifted on the tree branch as he sorted out the new information in his head.
"I guess I was right. It is related to being able to fly better and right, especially with wings."
Saquin turned towards his right, he was visually blind to what was beyond the compounded trees, but he could feel a presence not far away from him.
Spatial Awareness.
"I think it is high time I mess around with this skill or should I say power."
A jovial smile crept up Saquin's face.
First, how far can I sense?
Saquin closed his eyes, he placed all focus on this seventh sense of his. He felt his awareness warp and then extended.
Continuously.
"Woah." He opened his eyes in surprise. "That is really far."
Saquin estimated that his [Spatial Awareness] skill, had an awareness area of about a kilometer in radius, if not longer.
Saquin stood in contemplation for a while.
'Hmm, I shouldn't be surprised. I should expect more or less from my skills and abilities. Presently, I should posses more overall strength than a normal Pinnacle-Class Grade One Underbeast.'
Saquin nodded to himself.
'I am a Hybrid, one with Divine Level Talent at the same time.Yep, this much should be expected.'
Saquin soon moved his focus from how far the range was to how accurate the perception of the skill was.
With his eyes closed, Saquin tried to make out his surroundings to the finest detail possible.
He soon discovered that within the five meters range, there was little to no difference between his [Spatial Awareness] perception and his visual perception.
If he should pick a difference, it would be that he could not see behind him.
For later range though, he discovered that the perception level got increasingly worse. At the fifty meters to two hundred meters mark, things had become vague, like looking at a map in a video game. Anything higher than that felt like looking at a radar.
This flaw could of course be fixed if he focused his all within a location in his awareness radius.
"Ha, I think I have played enough. Time to get busy, if I am lucky, I might even be able to finish this Trial today."
Saquin stretched a bit before launching off the tree.
In his thousand meters radius awareness, he had discovered the presence of hundreds of Underbeasts. It was like a breeding ground over here. He even discovered the presence of Underbeast that would have given him a bit of pressure if he had come here before advancing.
However, he first wanted to confirm something.
His form blended with the environment.
Before long.
[ A Low-Class Grade One Underbeast -- Grolly Bird (No Bloodline) -- has been successfully slain. ]
[ Underessence has been successfully extracted.
Would you like to absorb it?
{ Yes } - { No } ]
"Yes." Saquin finally gave an affirmative answer to the question.
Saquin's eyes went wide as he felt a well of energy rush into his body.
The process did not take long.
"Huh? So that is how it is."
Saquin noted that he did not change much if at all. He did feel that the energy had tried to change something, to strengthen him, but it fell short. It seemed the energy was insufficient.
The only advantage though, was that it had restored all his lost energy from the day. As a hybrid,he possessed infinite stamina, meaning he could live forever without food and supplements.
But the use of external items like Cores were not part of the evolutionary equations, so those things really did dig into his energy, even if it was negligible to him.
"I currently have the body of a Pinnacle-Class, it would be wrong to expect the energy of a Low-Class to be enough to strengthen me. So, this failure is understandable."
Saquin said to himself as his wings spread outwards.
"Well, if one is not enough, maybe two would be. Maybe ten? A hundred? A thousand?"
Saquin shot up into the air. Out of the canopy of trees. Straight into the sky high.
Saquin stood a couple hundred of meters away from the ground and peered downwards.
His now over two meters long wings were spread out as, his arms Akimbo, and his gaze cold.
He looked like an angel who had come to deliver judgement to the forest below.
A judgement of death to its residents.
