Chapter 10 - Ch10 Missing

It was Sunday and John was currently over at April house sitting in her room and reading a book together. John had told her about how the movies went with Nancy and Barb already and John was surprised when April wasn't jealous when he told her about how Nancy and Barb had been all over him.

April said, "I just want you to be happy." John smiled at this and kissed her deeply.

John said, "I think I may be in love with Nancy."

April said sadly, "Oh."

John hugged her and said, "But I think I love you as well." April looked up at John, straight into his eyes and saw that his eyes were glowing as they do sometimes. John kissed her once again.

April said, "I want to be with you, I don't care if Nancy joins as well." John nodded as he kissed her one last time.

Back to the present, John and April were sitting on her bed. April was between John's legs, and they were enjoying their time together. It was currently 8:30 and it was getting close to time for John to leave. Lisa came into the room a couple minutes later and disturbed the atmosphere in the room. April and John got out of bed and followed Lisa.

They arrived at the front door and John gave April a quick kiss before he left. John walked to his car and got in before he drove off. When John got to his house, he got out of his car and walked into his house. Today was the day Will Byer would go missing. John pressed a sequence of buttons on his watch and a secret floor panel opened up, exposing a staircase. John walked down and the panel closed behind him.

When John reached the bottom of the staircase, he arrived in a room filled with many different guns and melee weapons. There was a wide training space in front of him in the middle of all the weapons. The weapons were lined on the walls.

John walked over to the wall and grabbed a kunai spear. John then walked into the middle of the room and began to practice with it. John swung it around in many different directions. John did many different types of flip and other acrobatic movement while he practiced throwing and retrieving it.

It was an amazing display of both acrobatics and martial arts mixed together. If a master martial artist saw John right now, they would kowtow and beg him to teach them. John had been in Eden practicing many different weapons for many almost 3 million years by now.

In a secret lab under the Hawkins National Laboratory U.S. Department of Energy, the lights were flickering nonstop. An alarm was blaring throughout the halls as a man ran out of a door and through the hallway.

The man was obviously a scientist of some kind as he was wearing a white lab coat. The man was fleeing from something unknown as fast as he could. He was panting heavily as he ran as fast as his leg could carry him. The man continued to run down the hall for a while before he arrived in front of an elevator door.

The man pressed the button in a panic. Pressing it multiple time before he turned back and looked behind him. Observing the hall there was nothing coming towards him. The entire hallway was clear of anything. The man turned back to the door and began hitting the button again.

A couple seconds later, the elevator door opened with a ding. There were multiple layers of door so it took a little longer than a normal door would. When it was fully open, the man walked inside quickly and pressed the up button many times. The man stopped after a couple clicks, then he stared deep into the hallway.

Seeing nothing the man finally began to relax some. His breathing started to stabilize, and his face brightened up a little. The man stared into the hallway as his heartbeat began to beat steadily. This soon stopped as the man heard a growling sound from above him. The man looked up slowly, his face showing pure terror and despair.

As the elevator door closed, the man was picked up while he kicked and screamed. His scream echoing through the hallways, but there was no one to hear him. Right before the door closed, the man's blood and guts fell onto the floor of the elevator.

Outside the Wheeler house, the sprinkler system was running. Providing water for the thirsty grass, the night was shown upon the world and the moon was almost fully covered by the clouds. The lights were on in many of the rooms of the house.

Mike was in the basement with his friends playing Dungeons and Dragons. They were playing a new campaign they had made 2 weeks before. Mike said, "Something is coming. Something hungry for blood. A shadow grows on the wall behind you, swallowing you into darkness. It is almost here."

Will said uncertain, "What is it?"

Dustin said worriedly, "What if it's the Demogorgon? Oh, Jesus, we're so screwed if it's the Demogorgon."

Lucas said confidently, "It's not the Demogorgon."

Mike said suddenly, "An army of Troglodytes charge into the chamber!"

Dustin questions, "Troglodytes?"

Lucas said boldly, "Told ya." They start to chuckle; Dustin snorts and Will smiles.

Suddenly, Mike said ominously, "Wait a minute. Did you hear that? That, that sound. Boom... boom..."

Suddenly he raises his voice and slams the table, "Boom!" Dustin gasps.

Mike said, "That didn't come from the Troglodytes. No, that... That came from something else." All the boys began to get worried.

Mike continues, "The Demogorgon!" Everyone groans in annoyance.

Dustin said, "We're in deep shit."

Mike said, "Will, your action!"

Will said perplexed, "I don't know!"

Lucas said loudly, "Fireball him!"

Will said, "I'd have to roll a 13 or higher!"

Dustin said, "It's too risky. Cast a protection spell."

Lucas said, "Don't be a pussy. Fireball him!"

Dustin said, "Cast protection."

Mike said in an angry voice, "The Demogorgon is tired of your sill human bickering! It stomps towards you. Boom!"

Lucas said, "Fireball him!

Mik said, "Another stomp, boom!"

Dustin said, "Cast protection.

Mike yells, "He roars in anger!" All of them start to clamor.

Lucas yells, "Fireball!"

Will yells as well, "Fireball!" However, he rolled so hard that the dice fell off the table and went onto the ground. They all stand up in a hurry and look for the dice

Dustin said, "Oh, shit!"

Lucas said, "Where'd it go? Where is it?"

Will said, "I don't know!"

Dustin said, "Is it a 13?"

Will said, "I don't know!"

Lucas said, "Where is it?"

Dustin began to freak out. He said, "Oh, my God! Oh, my God! Oh, my God!"

Karen yelled from upstairs, "Mike! Mike!"

Lucas said, "Can you find it yet?"

Will said, "I can't find it!"

Karen opened the basement door. Mike said, "Mom, we're in the middle of a campaign!"

Karen said, "You mean the end? Fifteen after."

Lucas said frustratedly, "Great, now we have to go!"

Will said sadly, "Why do we have to go?"

Lucas said angrily, "Oh, my God! Freaking idiot!" Mike ran up the stairs after his mother.

Mike said pleadingly, "Mom, wait, just 20 more minutes!"

Karen sighed and said, "It's a school night Michael. I just put Holly to bed. You can finish next weekend."

Mike said, "But that will ruin the flow!"

Karen said, "Michael--"

Mike interrupted, "I'm serious, Mom. The campaign took 2 weeks to plan. How was I supposed to know it was gonna take 10 hours?"

Karen said, "You've been playing for ten hours?" Mike knew he couldn't win against his mother, so he turned around and tried asking his dad.

Mike said, "Dad, don't you think that 20 more--"

Todd said, "I think you should listen to your mother." Then he went back to smacking the TV trying to fix it.

Mike looked between his parents and sighed. Meanwhile, Will had found the dice. Will said, "Oh, I got it!"

Will said, "Does a seven count?"

Lucas said, "It was a seven?" Will nodded.

Lucas said, "Did Mike see it?" Will shook his head.

Lucas said, "Then it doesn't count." Lucas and Will then began to head up the stairs. Dustin saw the pizza lying on the table.

Dustin said, "Yo, hey, guys. Does anyone want this?"

Both Lucas and Will said, "No" Hearing this, Dustin grabbed the pizza box and started to follow after them. Lucas and Will walked to the garage, while Dustin ran up the stairs.

Dustin stood in Nancy's doorstep. Nancy was talking on the phone. She said, "No... I don't think... Yeah, he's cute. Barb, no, I don't think so. Barb, you're not--"

Dustin said, "Hey, Nancy." Nancy looked over.

Dustin said, "There's a slice left if you want it. Suasage and Pepperoni."

Nancy said, "Hold on." Then she got out of bed gracefully and walked to the door. Nancy stood in front of Dustin with a smile.

Nancy took the slice and said, "Thanks, dork." Then Nancy closed the door and went back to her conversation with Barb.

Dustin walked down the stairs a little down, but then he remembered she said, "Thanks" which is a step up from before. Dustin walked to the garage and got on his bike with a small smile. Dustin and Lucas rode off on their bikes slowly, while Will stayed behind.

Will said, "It was a seven."

Mike said, "Huh?"

Will said, "The roll, it was a seven. The Demogorgon, it got me. Well, see you tomorrow." Will then rode off, pedaling as fast as he could to catch up with Lucas and Dustin. As He rode off the light in front of the garage flickered.

Mike looked around for a second with a puzzled expression. But he soon gave up on it and walked inside after closing the garage.

Lucas, Will, and Dustin were riding down the road for a while when Lucas said, "Night ladies."

Dustin said, "Kiss your mom 'night for me."

Dustin and Lucas were now alone. Dustin said, "Race you back to my place? Winner gets a comic."

Will asked, "Any comic?"

Dustin said, "Yeah." After hearing that Will immediately sped forwards.

Dustin said, "Hey! Hey! I didn't say "go"! Get back here! I'm gonna kill you!"

Will said, "I'll take your X-Men 134!"

Dustin stopped in front of his house and said, "Son of a bitch." He watched as Will disappeared down the street. Will continued down the street for a while and passed a sign.

The sign said, "Hawkins National Laboratory U.S. Department of Energy". Under that sign was another that said, "No Trespassing U.S. Government Property".
