Including this current one, there have been three meteor impacts known to Shen Yu.
The first occurred about three months ago.
That meteor landed near a small town in the Northern Alliance with a population of about twenty thousand. At first, no one paid attention, but just a day later, a group of large gray-white segmented creatures suddenly appeared there, with rotating gear-like mouthparts, resembling some kind of worm.
Moreover, the creatures were constantly expanding in size!
That small town turned into ruins in just half a day, with no survivors.
The incident was hidden by international authorities and unknown to the general public. However, it was too large to completely cloak, and information spread within certain circles.
Shen Yu learned about it through his own channels.
The current situation there remains unknown, with the only information being that small nuclear weapons were reportedly used.
The second incident occurred two months ago, with a meteor landing in a neighboring country in a relatively populated area, bringing with it a floating miniature eyeball with an incredibly fast flying speed, scattering all around, making it impossible to conceal.
All creatures that made eye contact with these eyeballs developed a strong tendency for self-destruction.
From eye contact to suicide could take less than a minute!
This was also the first incident that the public became truly aware of, causing immense panic, especially when someone claimed that these monsters came from the meteor that would reach the human mother star eight years later.
The voices announcing the apocalypse grew increasingly loud.
People with some capability were desperately seeking ways to create survival opportunities for themselves.
The Doomsday Fortress was just one of many such measures.
It may not be useful, but it's better than doing nothing.
"Three small meteors brought three types of monsters," Shen Yu said as if talking to himself, "what's coming next?"
No one could answer him.
But it was undoubtedly a question filled with despair.
Giant worms, eyeballs that induce suicide, and these zombie-like spreading creatures that are even more terrifying than the zombies in movies.
Normal people are as fragile as ants in front of any of these monsters!
"Boss," Ji Mingshu said quietly beside him, "the most pressing issue now is the impact this broadcast has on social order. The fact that it hasn't been banned yet clearly shows that the authorities are preparing to make the crisis public."
Previously, it was just some rumors online, which, although increasingly rampant and convincing many, still left the majority oblivious or in denial, believing it wouldn't affect them in the short term.
But now, with such bloody and brutal scenes being broadcasted, it's obvious that things have changed.
The apocalypse is no longer a rumor but a distinct reality facing everyone.
Social order will face tremendous challenges!
That's the real problem at hand.
"Our country should have the capability to maintain order," Shen Yu frowned slightly. "Moreover, we've done quite a bit of preparatory work... however, those things stored in warehouses around the world indeed need to be moved quickly."
As his voice faded, the live broadcast screen in front of him was cut off following a hysterical scream, with the camera falling to the ground facing upward, allowing everyone to clearly see that sinister figure leaping over.
One could even see the bloodied, twitching corpse of the female reporter lying on the ground.
Before she died, she was screaming "God," but unfortunately, God did not appear.
Shen Yu stopped watching and quickened his pace towards his Doomsday Fortress.
In these past few months, only the framework of the fortress was hastily constructed, with nothing inside yet.
"Quickly arrange for this place to be furnished and bring my parents over," he turned his head and said to the secretary, "the current situation is different from before, and security measures must be reinforced. Also, try to persuade them as well."
His tone carried a hint of helplessness.
No matter how big of a boss Shen Yu is, in front of his parents, he only has one identity.
"Yes, boss," Ji Mingshu replied softly.
Shen Yu nodded, and the next instant, a dense Gray Mist suddenly surged around him, swallowing him in the blink of an eye, making him disappear.
Only Ji Mingshu remained inside, staring blankly at the spot where Shen Yu disappeared.
No matter how many times she saw it, it always brought immense reassurance.
Especially in current times.
Ji Mingshu feared she would never forget the first time she saw the moment, just a flick of his fingertips, that erased the endless pain caused by her hyperthymesia.
"Whether or not the apocalypse arrives, being able to stand behind the boss is my greatest fortune," the secretary thought to herself.
Meanwhile, Shen Yu had arrived in a unique space.
This was a void, with only some faint Gray Mist emitting a soft glow against the dark background, illuminating Shen Yu and large swathes of goods.
About eight years ago, when Shen Yu was in his third year of high school, he encountered a car accident and was in a coma for a whole year.
Upon awakening, he discovered he possessed this space.
Though it cost him the opportunity to attend university, he gained supernatural abilities.
However, to this day, Shen Yu hasn't gained a deep understanding of this Gray Mist Space.
He has only uncovered three relatively important functions.
The first is storage.
Anything can be stored here, and while it's not time-sealed, it isn't easily damaged either, and the space is vast; Shen Yu has yet to explore its limits.
Unfortunately, living beings can't be stored; apart from Shen Yu himself, anything with life sent in loses its life signs immediately, even bacteria and viruses.
The second is teleportation.
He can freely arrange some teleportation anchors.
At any time, he can use the Gray Mist Space as a transit to arrive at a destination.
For instance, at this moment, he just needs to take a few more steps and exit from another place to arrive at a warehouse somewhere along the coast of the Northern Alliance.
Shen Yu initially started his business focusing on transportation and trade as his main enterprises.
It wasn't just about using the characteristics of the Gray Mist Space for simple transportation or even smuggling, but establishing regular transport routes and then using the Gray Mist Space under their cover, and primarily positioning his business in overseas countries with weaker regulatory oversight.
Even so, he encountered quite a few troubles.
True prosperity came only after meeting Ji Mingshu.
A trustworthy genius who directly elevated his career to a whole new level!
Now, the Shen Group long surpassed the transportation industry, encompassing production, trade, and even medical technology, evolving into a gigantic corporation with total assets exceeding thirty billion.
This is still before going public, and once it does, multiplying tenfold would be effortless.
Achieving this wasn't just about storage and teleportation being so simple, but it was linked to one of the most important functions of the Gray Mist Space.
Which is the Gray Mist itself!
