Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Analysis of Devil Fruits—Do You All Just Not Get the Chat Group?

Brandon White sat at his desk, watching his classmates animatedly discussing their powers. He felt a twinge of nostalgia—he too used to daydream about the future at their age.

Well, at least being financially secure made everything easier.

He shook his head and decided to check in on the chat group during the downtime.

Ordinary Group Leader: "So bored, so bored. Ugh, this high-martial world—why did I have to transmigrate here?"

Ordinary Group Leader: "Because of the spiritual awakening, there's nothing fun in entertainment anymore."

Ordinary Group Leader: "All the novels are the same old 'loser protagonist' stuff. That trope is ancient."

Ordinary Group Leader: "Why can't we get something fast-paced about actual geniuses for once?"

Child of Nature: "Maybe… it's because people who really understand genius wouldn't bother writing novels?"

Child of Nature: "Geniuses in a high-martial world probably aren't spending time as authors."

Ordinary Group Leader: "Ugh.jpg"

Ordinary Group Leader: "Yeah, maybe you're right."

Ordinary Group Leader: "Hey, you're online already? Is school over?"

Roxie Vale perked up as she saw Brandon come online and messaged him, curiosity clear in her words.

Child of Nature: "Technically, first period hasn't started yet. It's just morning reading time."

Child of Nature: "But with the spiritual awakening, lots of classmates have powers now and everyone's too excited to actually study."

Ordinary Group Leader: "Early-stage spiritual revival, and people are already awakening powers… I'm so jealous."

Ordinary Group Leader: "After I transmigrated, I didn't get any powers. Ugh."

Ordinary Group Leader: "Even the Sharingan Madara gave me—I don't have Uchiha blood, so I'm scared to use it."

Roxie grew frustrated at this point. Every other chat group she knew about came with optimization functions, like converting chakra usage into stamina consumption.

But this chat group had nothing! Not a single extra feature!

Ugh, what a useless chat group.

Brandon was surprised—so Roxie didn't dare use the Sharingan because she didn't have Uchiha blood?

Didn't this group have optimization features?

Suddenly, a robotic voice echoed in both their minds:

Ding. Detected that a member (the group leader) is doubting the group's abilities.

Ding. The chat group's "red envelope" function does offer initial optimization: it can convert different energy systems into a compatible form for each member's world. But only if the member actually has enough energy or stamina to use.

Ding. Understood?

It was clear the chat group was annoyed by their doubt.

Basically, if you had no energy or stamina, don't blame the group for not working miracles.

Child of Nature: "..."

Ordinary Group Leader: "..."

Ordinary Group Leader: "Is it talking about me?"

Child of Nature: "Who else would it be? It's not me—I already have powers."

Child of Nature: "Don't forget, I awakened abilities."

Ordinary Group Leader: "Fine, it's me. Sorry for being a normal person! Ugh."

Ordinary Group Leader: "Why did I transmigrate just to become a spiritual outlier? I can't cultivate energy at all—worse than even those talentless protagonists in novels!"

At least those guys could train, even if their talent got drained. Roxie couldn't cultivate at all.

The Worst Spirit: "Hahaha!"

The Worst Spirit: "Sorry, couldn't help myself. Hahaha."

Ordinary Group Leader: "Glares.jpg"

Come Be My Son: "Gurarara! No need to worry, group leader. If you don't mind the drawbacks, I can probably help you get a Devil Fruit."

Cook Daigu Into Soup: "Why not just learn Haki? Even if you can't cultivate your world's energy, Haki should be possible, right?"

Cook Daigu Into Soup: "Oh wait, you need almost superhuman physical ability to train Haki. Never mind, then."

Daigu clearly knew this; he was just messing around.

Ordinary Group Leader: "Angry panda.jpg"

Ordinary Group Leader: "You're all terrible! I can't train energy, my stamina's weak, so… yeah, fine, I'm useless."

Uchiha Dance King: "Pfft."

He'd thought the group leader would defend herself, but she just admitted it.

Golden Flash: "Has the group leader tried using our world's chakra?"

Ordinary Group Leader: "Tried it—didn't work."

Ordinary Group Leader: "Waves hand.jpg"

The Worst Spirit: "She actually tried asking Madara for help at first, but no luck."

Ordinary Group Leader: "Didn't realize until later that chakra's tied to the Divine Tree. I'm not from the Naruto world, so there's no way to cultivate chakra."

The Worst Spirit: "So really, the only way for the group leader to get stronger is to eat a Devil Fruit. But the drawbacks are serious, and with patience, we could get stronger in safer ways as more features unlock in the chat group."

Ordinary Group Leader: "Yeah, I get it. I'm just complaining."

Right now, the chat group was at a basic level—most features were still locked.

As more members joined and the group became more active, new functions would unlock.

At the moment, only the "red envelope" system was working—not much use to any of them.

Brandon found it hard not to laugh. The others all made good points, but weren't they all underestimating the chat group a bit?

Child of Nature: "Honestly, even eating a Devil Fruit isn't the end of the world."

Child of Nature: "Drawbacks can probably be fixed once the group unlocks more optimization features—so long as you're strong enough."

Child of Nature: "Using chat group abilities is bound to require some sort of price, right? Like a currency?"

Ordinary Group Leader: "Points? Those only come with new features like sign-in, recycle, and quests."

Child of Nature: "Then points are what matters."

Child of Nature: "But most of those features—except maybe daily sign-in—will require you to be strong enough to do things. Unless you're rich and can just buy items for recycling."

Child of Nature: "So for you, strength is the main way to earn points. Without strength, all you can do is grind for points slowly."

Child of Nature: "Personally, I recommend the Mythical Zoan Devil Fruits—different worlds mean your body's not the same as in One Piece."

Child of Nature: "If Logia or some Paramecia fruits don't improve your physical condition, you'd be stuck, since all those abilities drain stamina."
