Drifting in the vast and cold endless void, an entity with a red hear in the middle of its chest blankly stared at the endless sea of stars.
The entity had pure white eyes and a black body that already seemed to be slowly breaking apart, the entity shaked its head and pull a strand of its hair and sighed. That simple action caused more of its body to break apart into tiny blocks of white light.
Before the entity could completely disappear, a beam of light suddenly slammed into him. The entity blinked as two memories from two different people came into his mind.
originally the light beam that blasted at him was a young teenager that was as an excellent hacker in his world and it's original self was a merciless being who hates humanity and was betrayed by his family enabling it to go insane and lose its life and soul making it possess a child and made a deal with it which the child foolishly accepted and made it reset the world.
But then it found itself here as it slowly lost its way and began to be corroded away by the endless void.
The cracked parts of the entity seemed to reform and a boy with brown hair and black eyes wearing a green sweater began to form within seconds.
Chara frowned as he found his situation quite strange, he also wondered why or how he could now seemingly breath in space, he then looked down and saw his soul which he compressed into a small form and stored it within him.
After doing that, he sighed and looked at his surroundings, he reached out into empty space and a floating holographic red keyboard appeared in front of him with a large holographic screen.
[Firewall:Odd Lagunacious]
Chara is slightly confused by the word written on the screen, Odd Lagunacious. it was seemingly a firewall that blocked the entrance to this 'website or server'.
Chara quickly looked into the codes of the firewall and realized it didn't look very complicated, he began to hack into the firewall quickly, he continued that for a while bit before a small gap appeared in the firewall.
once he saw his work was satisfactory, he pressed the enter button. nothing happened for a few seconds but soon he exploded into motes of light that soon disappeared, the void was finally back to being empty.

In the Kingdom of Lugunica, a Japanese boy was transported to this fantastical but dangerous world, this was Subaru Natsuki.
But currently, due to some unknown complications, he was killed by thugs and died to blood loss. quite a tragic fate, the person who ceases his brows was someone named Reinhard Van Astrea.
He sighed and thought he should really scold the city guards next time, though someone dying in the city isn't rare, it was still the responsibilities of the city guards to oversee and stop all the crimes going on in the city.
He sighed and turned around, his eyes widened as he saw a strange looking kid staring dazely at the surroundings as if he was suddenly teleported from the vast emptiness of space.
Chara shaked his head and looked past the strange clothed man and then the body on the ground that was face flat and creating a pool of blood underneath it, he looked at the strange-man and tensed, unknowingly a silver knife materialized on his right hand.
Reinhard cleared his throat and spoke. "you shouldn't be here."
Chara was not reassured, this noble looking man is probably a twisted person underneath that smile and he was telling him to go on his way and not mind the crime scene and though he may be confused he is not stupid?!!!. "You're a cold blooded killer aren't you."
Reinhard came to a pause and looked at this kid, what did he mean he was a cold blooded killer?!! he found the body like that.
"Wait theres a misunderstanding, i didn't kill him?!!." Reinhard quickly tried to prove his innocence but when he replied the boy was no longer in front of him but he instinctively moved as he sensed danger and dodged the knife which was almost about to stab him.
Such speed?!. Did this kid have a divine protection of speed and the danger he felt, the kid was capable of hurting him with just a single kitchen knife. "Wait?! I really didn't kill him, i just found him here now!!."
Chara didn't listen and attacked him again, Reinhard of course dodged and was not willing to attack a child, Chara kept attacking and after a while he was very frustrated actually it reminded him of very bad memories and that made him feel hateful.
His knife glowed a faint red and he swung it, an arc of red energy passed by Reinhard and made a large cut behind him on a wall.
Reinhard frowned and caught Chara's arm when he was about to go into another attack. the last attack he launched contained a trace of pure malice and insanity, he began to think this 'child' may come from the witches cult. But that wouldn't make sense would it?. the kid was clearly anxious when he saw the dead body, so that slight malice and insanity may have been directed at someone else but it was used against him instead.
Chara lips twitched as he thought how strong this guys grip was, he really couldn't get out of it, he could probably if he caught him off guard and chose to cut his arm, he was tempted but the man clearly said he wasn't the one who killed the plain looking guy in the ground. Maybe he is a good guy seeing as he didn't attack him ever since he started attacking him.
Chara looked up at the man and stared deeply into his small blue eyes. "Are you sure you didn't kill him?."
Reinhard's eyes twitched. "of course i didn't, i would never kill the innocent people."
Chara did not get his ideology but still decided to trust him for now. "Well, ok, can you let go of my hand now uhm…what's your name?."
Reinhard smiled and introduced himself, this kid seemed interesting, his looks and clothes were foreign so he might have come from outside Lugunica. "I am Reinhard Van Astrea."
Chara thought that was a very weird name, he at least let go of his arm. "My names Chara and i'm kind of new here."
As the two introduced themselves, a city guard quickly come to face the two and then he looked at the body behind Reinhard then looked at Reinhard with a strange expression, he then looked at the kid he was casually talking too while a dead body was behind him.
The kid doesn't look scared though…are these two monsters or something cause a normal human would never stay calm at the sight of a dead body!!.
The guard scratched his head and ignored the two abnormal people in front of him. "Captain Reinhard, i'll…clean this up and the city guards are sorry for not doing their jobs at an optimal pace."
The guard quickly went back to call the rest of the guards to help clean this mess and investigate the murder.
Reinhard was stunned as the guard did not give him any time to reply, seeing the situation he decided to quickly leave this place. "Well Chara, i think it's tome for me to ho, i hope we can meet once again."
Chara shrugged and replied. "Sure, i guess we'll meet again."
After saying that, Reinhard ran with a smile leaving Chara all alone in the alley. The knife he was holding soon disappeared and Chara sighed.
It seemed when he created a hole in the firewall he was somewhat transported to this world or universe seemingly giving him the opportunity to live another life and also the possibility of hacking into other universes but he does not really have any information of this universe from both his memories.
he walked into the alleyway and walked passed the body and went out into the streets, soon he went towards a secluded area.
Chara swiped his hands and the keyboard and screen appeared in front of him.
on the screen an error was written.
[Error:Protagonist000:The stability of the World code is in danger. WARNING?!! Find a replacement for the protagonist within three minutes or the world will be altered]
"Protagonist?" Chara muttered incredulously, A protagonist usually refers to the main character of a story,game or tv show, this error signifies that the protagonist is non-existent or…dead.
Chara thought about the dead body that was face flat on the alleyway and had a bad premonition, was that dead guy the protagonist?!. Wait and what does it mean three minutes on the destruction of the world?!.
Chara immediately began to find out how he could fix it, soon he came across the world folder and found a human shaped hole on the files, the strange thing is that the human shaped hole had a different source code than the rest of the world which was quite a problem for Chara.
So he began to think, the source code was otherworldly so he would need another human shaped otherworldly source code to replace the original one, so where would he find that?!.
"Wait, can't i just use myself?." Chara asked himself and quickly realized he is a human shaped otherworldly person, so how would we access his source code?.
He paused and quickly searched through the screen using the keyboard and found a single folder that was isolated from the World Folder.
[Do you Wish to use your source as a replacement for this world?]
Chara didn't think much if it and replied. "Yes"

The screen flickered ominously, glowing brighter with every second as a progress bar emerged.

Chara could feel something strange — like threads being pulled out from his being, rewoven into something new. It didn't hurt, not physically, but somewhere deep within his soul, he felt a small tug — like an identity being shifted, reassigned.

Around him, the world started glitching slightly. The sky shimmered, the air crackled with strange static. People walking on the streets flickered momentarily, their models struggling to remain coherent. A cat that was mid-jump paused in the air for a split-second, frozen, before continuing like nothing happened.

Chara's expression turned grim. He was starting to understand that this wasn't simply a 'reset' or 'replacement.' The moment this download completed, he would become this world's central point. Its protagonist. Its anchor. Its… sacrifice?
"What does it mean to be the protagonist here…?" he whispered.
A warning flashed again:
[CAUTION: Installing a foreign source into a primary anchor position may result in identity bleed, emotional overwrites, or irreversible personality corruption.]
His eye twitched. "So I'll become whoever Subaru was supposed to be?" He looked at his hands. "Or… maybe we become one."

Images began flashing across the screen without input — flashes of memories that didn't belong to Chara:
• A timid boy in a convenience store.
• A pale hand reaching toward a silver-haired girl.
• Screams.
• Blood.
• Death after death after death.
• And the will to keep trying, no matter how broken he became.
It was Subaru's life. Subaru's pain. Subaru's determination.
Chara staggered slightly as some of those emotions tried to slip into his mind. "This… is the protagonist? Why would anyone want this fate?!"

The screen turned blood red.

His sweater flapped slightly in a wind that wasn't there. The sounds of the street behind him went mute. The whole world held its breath.
