Chapter 4 - chapter 4

The third group, led by Ron, attacked other overseers and their groups to take what was theirs. Soon, fifty became a hundred, a hundred became two hundred, and just like that, six hundred slaves were now under Ron's command, with bloodlust flowing through their veins.

Even the slave collars had somehow stopped working—to a certain degree. The slaves had regained just enough will to kill their slavers, filled with anger over their suffering and the loss of their memories. Yet, they were still under some lingering influence, one that kept their pasts shrouded in darkness. This only fueled their rage further. The cycle continued, and with time, they grew more bloodthirsty, losing their sanity with each passing second.

Only two people remained unaffected by it all: Ron—the cause of this chaos—and Karz, who stood at the back of the crowd with a glowing black rock in his hand.

"What is—no, how is this all happening?" Karz muttered to himself.

"Beautiful, isn't it?" Ron said. "So much bloodlust. The blood of the twelve overseers. The madness in their eyes. It's all so... mesmerizing."

"This rock… it has something to do with why I'm not like them. Why give it to me?"

"I don't know," Ron replied. "I was ordered to by my master."

"Master? Then you came here to free me? Why? What's so special about me?"

"You'll know soon enough. By the time it all ends, I will break the chain that binds you."

Just as Karz was about to speak again, Ron vanished—only to reappear in front of the raging crowd.

"Slaves. Such a repulsive word, isn't it? The people who rule over you—they are no different from you. So why should they rule while you bow your heads and obey?

"You are both human. If you can be killed by a sword, so can they. If you feel pain, they feel it too. If they can rule, you can rebel. If they breathe, you can take their breath.

"You are what makes them mighty. You build the houses they live in. You grow the food they eat. You are what makes them great. So now—take it from them! Take everything you have given them."

"The men who stole your lands. The women who wouldn't even glance at you. The children who treated you like toys. This time, instead of being the ones who are taken from—plunder them. Take everything they owe you."

A deafening roar erupted from the beasts now disguised as humans. They had lost all traces of their former selves. Only hatred and fury remained.

The terrifying part? This wouldn't end here.

Outside the cave, another six hundred people waited in their tents—waiting to be transformed into killing machines by Ron.

Twelve more overseers' blood was yet to be shed.

And then there was Dion.

Not much was known about him, except one thing—his strength. He was immensely powerful, but no one knew to what extent.
