Chapter 13 - Chapter 10 : A Girl in Love, A Boy in Denial

Back in the Minamoto household, the air felt a little warmer.

Shizuka hummed softly as she stepped into the house, her cheeks still faintly pink, her mind replaying Akg's confession and the kiss over and over. She couldn't stop smiling—a dreamy, lovestruck smile.

Her mother, Yukki Minamoto, watched her daughter with raised eyebrows from the living room.

She narrowed her eyes slightly and asked in a teasing tone:

"Shizuka... did something good happen at Akg's house today?"

Shizuka froze mid-step, her heart nearly stopping. She turned, her face turning crimson.

"Ah! N-no, Mom! It's nothing!"

Without waiting for a reply, she darted toward her room, practically fleeing.

SLAM! went the door.

Yukki blinked in surprise, watching her daughter's hasty retreat.

And then, she smiled knowingly.

"That's definitely the behavior of a girl in love..." she thought, nodding slightly.

But she wasn't worried. Akg was a responsible, smart, and kind boy—well-mannered, independent, and always helping Shizuka with her studies.

Yukki's mind briefly drifted to Nobita—her daughter's other close friend.

"Unlike that Nobita... lazy, always getting in trouble, poor grades." She shook her head. "I'd gladly accept Akg as Shizuka's boyfriend any day."

She chuckled softly to herself and went back to her book, silently giving her blessing to her daughter's new love.

Meanwhile... At the Nobi Residence

A few blocks away, in a two-story house, a loud sneeze echoed from the second floor.

"ACHOO!"

Nobita sniffled and rubbed his nose, sitting in his usual messy room.

"Doraemon! I just sneezed—someone must be thinking about me." He smiled confidently.

From the bed, the blue robotic cat, Doraemon, opened one eye with an annoyed expression.

"Nobita, it's just a sneeze. Stop being dramatic."

Nobita puffed out his chest.

"No! I'm sure it's Shizuka... I bet she's thinking about me right now!"

Doraemon groaned and rolled over.

"Right. She's definitely not thinking about Akg, who's better at everything than you... No way..."

"Huh? What did you say?" Nobita blinked.

"Nothing! Let me sleep, Nobita!"

Doraemon pulled his blanket over his head.

Nobita sighed, smiling like a fool.

"Still... I should visit Shizuka tomorrow... maybe she'll make me cookies..."

What Nobita didn't know was that the green color of envy had unknowingly sprouted on his head, because Shizuka was no longer his to dream about—she was already Akg's girlfriend.
