Chapter 1 - The dream that never slept....

Chapterone.

Its almost 6am in the morning with the birds singing its beautiful melody and the morning fresh air just touched me and for a moment i thought i was in my country BHUTAN with my wife wangmo sleeping next to me inside my three star hotel in bumthang, which i worked very hard for it to buit for my family, but then i realized my wife was not beside me and i am not in my country.I was in a small cozy cornered room with three retired bhutanese monk sleeping next to me who were once a monk in my country and my family had known them since then.

My name is pekko and my mother and father was a farmer in the western district of bhutan called Paro,my village where i grew up watching them work tirelessly in the field growing rice, vegetables like potatoes, spinach, cabbage, cauliflower, springonion, the fresh bhutanese chillies just for the three of us to survive and help me with my education so that i can become an educated man and a successful person in the future. As the days went by i was in my thirties and in that time i finished my tenth grade and went for a civil engineering college where i did my deploma there in the eastern part of bhutan where its four hundred kilometers far away from my village. After the completion of my civil engineering course i got a job in the government under the ministry of agriculture as the head of the department in eastern part of bhutan in Bumthang district.

My dream started from there working as a head of the department and there were one hundred fifty staff under my guidance and had to look after everything, since then i was working very hard for the department and for the government so that i wont fail as a head of the department so i went very deep into my work and day by day by visiting many districts of bhutan i constructed many farm roads in the rural districts made high ways for the people living there and i have managed to construct around twenty thousand kilometres of high way for the people of bhutan within the period of ten years.i went to many countries on the government tour and achieved many good relations with the machinery departments across the country and had also a very good relation with the japanese county, where they agreed to donate the bhutan govenrnment with a very huge numbers of machineries like the trucks, excavator, bulldozers, rollers, tractors and many other machines which were very useful for the government and its people.Days went by and i was making a difference as the head of the department in my district and i was also very happy with my efforts i had put into the work so,one time i was travelling to Thimphu the heart capital of bhutan for an official work there i met my wife wangmo for the first time and also with wangmos friend who was one of my colleagues friend and from that i knew wangmo,we went out on a dinner togather later that evening and had a good dinner with many laugh and talks.

We used to meet everytime after we knew each other very well, the dinner, the movies, the drive on a hill to see some refreshing view of the city, the time i used to visit her every now and then so the days passed and i felt like i should ask her hand and marry her for good so i decided to purpose her and one night i asked her for a dinner for just the two of us and she agreed. That night i went to pick her up in my old 1990s corona car which was very popular in my country in that period of time, so i picked her up in my car and drove her to one of the restaurant in the town.after reaching inside the restaurant we both had some good talk and had a delecious bhutanese cuisine called the SIKKAM PAA and EMA DATSI,which is very popular in my country the sikkam paa is a non-veg dish where they slice the pork into thin layer into a long length and keep it to dry for a long time to get to dry and after drying the pork is ready to be cooked in many other ways, but for me i always preferred in the bhutanese way where there the dry pork is added with onions, tomatoes, the dried red bhutanese red chillies and cooked with some olive oil into it and the result used to be very good and also the ema datsi the chilli reciepe where its cooked with some fresh green chilles, onions, tomatoes, garlic and finish it off with some sliced chedder cheese with some ml of olive oil and the result would be very delecious.

After we finished our dinner we decided to go to watch the beautiful scenery of the town from the top of the town where all the people come on a date with their loved ones and i also took the advantage to purpose her in that moment,I nerviously asked wangmo, i said, 'wangmo,' after knowing you for a long time i really feel like i am in love with you and i really want to start a fresh life with you and want to live a very happy life with you and create a beautiful family for us.wangmo replied;pekko i am a uneducated women and also i am a very poor women with just one mother, including that my mother let me get married when i was just a thirteen years old girl and i have four children to feed and my husband,he died because he was an alcoholic and i dont think you would like to spend your whole life with a widowed women like me.i replied;firstly i am very sorry for your loss and the sad condition you are in rightnow but from now onwards you dont have to suffer any more because i am going to takecare of you forever.and after listening to wangmos very sad and emotional story i felt so pity towards her and loved her even more.So after two months i took my wife and her four children with me to bumthang and started living there with me happily.after one year me and my wife had a new member in our family and it was a boy, i was very happy that i had my first born son from my wife and it made me feel like i got some extra responsibility from that time and we named him as JANGCHU it mean a kind soul.with having total of five children to takecare i was working very hard for them each and every night i would come home very late from my office and after reaching home sometimes i used to fall asleep without even having the dinner but it dosnt mean my wife dosent cook for me, she stays awake waiting for me to come home and serve me the dinner but i used to get tired staring at the computer screen whole day and sitting into that particular office chair so i used to get tired and exausted.time went by and my five children started growing up and when the children grows up the parents need to give them more and more needs and wants for them and that scared me so one night in my office i was thinking about something big for me and my family so that they dont have to struggle in the coming future if i am not there with them. What i was thinking about was to construct a solid three star hotel in the heart of Bumthang district so later that night i went home little early and had my dinner,we had some family dinner time togather and after the dinner the kids went to their beds because they got school in the morning so we let them sleep,i said wangmo i am thinking to build a three star hotel here in bumthang and told her all the ideas to built the hotel within three to five years of time so my wife wangmo said;pekko i am very happy to hear what you said to me rightnow but i am just worried that from where will you bring a huge amount of money to built that kind of a hotel and i replied;wangmo this is going to be a very big project for you and me because its a life time pay day if we can construct the hotel and run it smoothly without any problems and when it comes to the money i want to get a loan from the national bank of bhutan(bnb)and keep my land as mortgage for the loan and wangmo said;so how much money do we need to buit that hotel and i replied;i want to lend around Nultrum 20million from the bank and add the other 20million Nultrum from my own saving and the total budget for the hotel would be 40million Nultrum to built that hotel and again wangmo replied;pekko so what if we cant give back the money to the bank after lending from them and can we make that much money from the hotel and give it back to the bank with intrest??i replied;dont worry i have done all the calculations for this and i know it will be a win-win situation for both us and the bank.bumthang is a rural district where there is many old traditional festival in different months in a year like monk mask dances, naked dance which takes place after the mid-night around 2am in the moring, the sacred festival of bumthang also known as 'tshechu" and many more.so in that particular period of time mainly the foreigners, the tourists from all around the globe will come there to see and explore the unique bhutanese culture and traditional festival so there can be a good money for all the businees hubs in and around the district.Bhutan is a small landlocked country sandwitched between china and india but the people living here are all happy because of the leadership of our kind king and queen,so bhutan is covered with a huge 69.75%percent of the country with forest and with 20districts filled with many types of plants and trees and the uniqueness of the country is that we follow the system called GNH not GDP,gross national happiness it means we follow the kind system of his majesty the 4th king of bhutan and with his kind invention where all the people are happy under the democracy system which our kind king had given to his people and the country and the aim is just to be happy,so many tourist's visit bhutan to see and explore our happy bhutanese tradation and culture in many other ways and also one of the economy growth of the country is also from the tourists. So one day i went to the bank and i have lended the 20million Nultrum wordth of money from the bank and kept all my property including the land i bought from a friend to built my hotel and also my home village land which my parents gave it to me,so i have mortgaged it all to the bank and started the construction by hiring indian labourers and a good architecture to built my hotel and from that moment problems started to rise.
