Morris's POV

Twelve hours. My son had been missing for twelve excruciating hours. Since Kayla's frantic call, I'd been operating on pure adrenaline and iron will. Every fiber of my being wanted to scream, to rage, to tear apart the city until I found him. But I couldn't afford that luxury. Austin needed me focused. Monica needed me strong.

I'd mobilized every resource at my disposal. Former colleagues, business associates, even people who owed me favors I'd never intended to collect—all searching for Austin. The executive floor had transformed into a war room overnight. Darren and Jason had been invaluable, arranging for beds, food, and necessities. None of us were willing to leave the building. My spacious office now housed a massive conference table where a dozen people worked phones and computers, following every possible lead.

"Morris." Paula's voice cut through my spiraling thoughts. I turned and embraced her, drawing strength from her familiar presence.
