Morris's POV

I wrapped Monica in my arms and guided her toward the elevator when it opened. The moment the doors parted, she sprinted toward her parents, embracing them tightly, while Natalie rushed to her own. Desmond approached me, his face etched with exhaustion and worry.

"Son, I can't thank you enough for arranging our travel," he said, his voice weary.

"Please, no thanks necessary, father-in-law," I responded, accepting his warm embrace.

Lillian approached next, her eyes rimmed with red. When she hugged me, I felt that distinctive maternal comfort wash over me. After greeting Natalie's parents, I briefed everyone on the situation. Dr. Parrish had taken Monica to her room for examination.

I pulled Monica's parents aside, explaining we needed to talk privately. There was much they needed to know. We made our way to Monica's room just as Dr. Parrish was leaving, assuring us her condition was improving.

"You called my parents?" Monica asked, her eyes glistening with tears.
