Morris's POV

When I returned from the terrace, I had managed to regain some semblance of composure. Forty minutes of solitude, thinking and praying for my son's safety had helped clear my head. I strode into my office, immediately asking if there had been any updates. Nothing. My next thought was to check on Monica, to see how she was holding up through this nightmare. I walked into Darren's office expecting to find her there, but the space was empty.

"Where's Monica?" I called out, my voice carrying across the room.

Natalie looked up from her desk, confusion crossing her face. "I thought she was with you. She said she needed some time with you."

"She's not with me. She's not in my office. She's not at reception." My voice rose with each statement, fear creeping in. "Where the hell is she?"

"Take it easy, Morris," Aisha said, rising from her chair. "She might have gone to the break room to get some air." Within seconds, everyone scattered to search the premises for Monica.
