Chapter 47 - Good dog, go away

Seraphina's POV

I stormed into Adrian's room and slammed the door behind me, my hands shaking with leftover rage. The nerve of that man! That bastard and his endless death threats. If he wanted me dead so badly, why not just get it over with?

But no. He preferred his little games, dangling me like bait on a string.

Back in my old world, whenever those monsters abused me or made me furious, I'd channel all that anger into scrubbing floors until my knuckles bled or chopping wood until my arms screamed. Physical work was my therapy.

But here? I was in a spotless, black-and-white room that looked straight out of a magazine shoot. There wasn't even a speck of dust, or any pillow out of its place. It made my hands twitch. Was this man allergic to dust?

The little doll had already gone off to school, leaving me alone in this giant, silent mansion.
