Seraphina's POV
Alicia's face immediately fell, her bottom lip jutting out in the most adorable pout I'd ever seen.
A smile crept into my eyes as I watched her internal struggle. "Little cutie, are you unhappy that your father lost?"
The little girl nodded, looking absolutely torn.
Of course. No matter what, a father would always be a hero figure in a child's eyes, and they could never lose. Even if that father was an emotionally constipated iceberg like Adrian Blackwood.
I poked her cute nose and pretended to be unhappy. "Does this mean that you are not happy that I won?"
Alicia's eyes went wide with panic. "N-no... I am happy for you but..." She pouted, her small pink lips pursed as if she was caught in the worst dilemma of her five-year-old life.
I couldn't help it. I laughed and pulled her into a hug. "Okay, okay, no need to explain. I was just teasing you." I pulled back to look at her seriously. "I know your father is a powerful man."
