Adrian's POV
"Don't talk. Don't move. Just stay awake. You have to stay awake," I pleaded desperately, my hands shaking.
Blood.
There was so much blood.
It coated my hands, soaked through her clothes, and pooled beneath her like a cruel, red halo. I couldn't breathe, couldn't think. I couldn't accept what I was seeing.
No. No, no, no.
This couldn't be happening.
"Why did you do that?" My voice cracked, raw and trembling. "Why did you push me? You stupid, reckless—"
"You should…" she coughed, her body convulsing with pain. "You should be happy now…"
I froze. "What?"
She gave a small, fragile smile that shattered something inside me. "You hated me… You wanted me dead… and now, I'm going to die…" she whispered, coughing as she spoke.
"No!" The word tore from my throat like a scream. "You're not going to die! Do you hear me, Seraphina? You are NOT going to die!"
