The cameras flashed relentlessly, creating a blinding wall of light that made me feel like I was standing under a spotlight I couldn't escape from.
My heart hammered in my chest as reporters shouted questions, their voices overlapping in a chaotic symphony of noise.
I wasn't unused to being at the center of attention—back in the werewolf world, everyone had pointed at me. But it had been to abuse me, insult me, curse me. They'd stared at me with hatred and disgust.
This was different.
These people weren't cursing me. They were curious. But somehow, that made me even more nervous.
"Mr. Blackwood! Is this your wife?"
"How long have you been married?"
"Mrs. Blackwood, what do you do for a living?"
"Mr. Blackwood, how did you two meet?"
The questions kept coming, rapid-fire and overwhelming. I felt my smile falter slightly, my grip on Adrian's arm tightening.
