Thousands of years ago, AUPETI was the battlefield of the greatest war ever known—a devastating clash between the Celestial Beings and the Demons. In their desperation, the demons made a pact with the Forbidden Creatures, beings from the Abyss, known only as the Otherworldly.
Together, they opened portals—rifts to twisted, alien realms—allowing horrors to spill into every corner of the world. The fabric of reality itself began to crack, forming unstable gateways to places so dangerous, so unnatural, that no ordinary being could hope to survive their depths.
Faced with extinction, the Celestial Beings made a choice.
They descended—not to rule, but to share.
Their divine knowledge and power were gifted to the mortal races: humans, elves, dwarves, and others. Those already at the peak of their paths—martial artists, knights, scholars, blacksmiths, and more—received the celestial blessing. Over time, their roles evolved into a structured class system to guide future generations.
Empowered by this sacred inheritance, mortals stood shoulder to shoulder with the Celestials. Together, they repelled the Demons and cast the Otherworldly back into the void.
And thus, AUPETI was saved.
But the cracks never fully closed...
And something still stirs in the dark.
After a thousand years of war with the Demons—an age remembered as the Holy War—civilization on the world of Aupeti surged forward. Blessed by the Celestial Beings, the races of mankind, elves, dwarves, and others transcended their realms. Now, they explore the portals that lead to mysterious new worlds.
In this advanced age, the most honored profession is the Hunter.
Hunters dive into dangerous realms, fight monsters, uncover secrets, and chase glory. To support this, elite Hunter Academies have been established across the world to train young heroes and heroines under seasoned mentors.
Among these students is a teen boy named Mateo.
An orphan. Weak. Bullied. Considered talentless and invisible. No friends. No parents. No future. Even in the Hunter Academy, he's just the background character everyone ignores or laughs at.
Until… something strange happens.
THE SYSTEM AWAKENS
On his way home through a dark alley, Mateo hears a voice inside his head. The lights suddenly go out. The street goes silent. He freezes.
Then—a glowing blue light erupts before him, and a mechanical voice rings out:
"Initializing... Hello, Master. I am the Cool System, designed to make you the most insanely cool person in existence."
Mateo blinks. "…Cool system? Seriously?"
"Yes, Master."
He snaps.
"Don't joke with me! I can't even look in the mirror without flinching! I can't speak in class! I don't have parents! I get beat up every day! What's the point of being 'cool' if I can't even protect myself?!"
The System pauses.
"...Wow. This time, I got a seriously broken master. (Note to author: you're killing me out here.)"
"Listen, Master," it continues. "Do you think being cool is easy? To be truly cool, you need to be the strongest. So let's start with that. Say: 'Status Window.'"
Mateo hesitantly mutters, "Status…"
The panel appears.
Even the System sighs.
"Damn. That's rough."
