During the clash, Shiki confirmed one thing—Good didn't seem to have a Devil Fruit power.
But that didn't explain the absurd healing ability the man possessed.
And this healing wasn't something even Zoan-type fruits could match. It was simply overpowered...
What the hell was going on? Could he be some kind of genetically modified human?
After escaping from the sixth level of Impel Down, Shiki had kept himself informed on the current world. He knew about the Vinsmoke family from the North Blue and their ability to genetically alter humans to become superhuman.
The Marines also had top scientists, so it wasn't impossible that Good's regeneration came from some sort of body modification.
Shiki narrowed his eyes and sneered to himself.
Whatever it was, he wouldn't back down. He was Shiki!
Let's see if this guy really can regenerate endlessly.
He was certain every power had a limit. There was no way Good could heal forever. All he needed to do was drag it out and strike once the healing couldn't keep up.
Back below, Gion finally saw an opening as Good and Shiki separated.
With a graceful leap, her long legs sprang into action. She twisted in the air and landed beside Good, her hand already gripping the hilt of her sword.
"Admiral Good, allow me to assist you!" she said calmly.
On Good's personal warship, Marines had taken the chance during his clash with Shiki to rescue many from the damaged support ships.
Seeing the Vice Admiral candidate joining the battle gave them renewed hope.
As a recognized candidate for Admiral, everyone knew Gion's strength.
Despite Good recovering from every injury, his repeated wounds still left them worried he wasn't a match for Shiki.
Now, with Gion at his side, the odds seemed better.
But what none of them expected was Good waving her off with a confident grin.
"No need!" he declared boldly. "Dealing with a mere Shiki only takes me, the Reckless Maniac Admiral!"
He sounded supremely sure of himself—but with that empty look in his eyes, it was hard to be convinced.
Above in the sky, using the powers of the Fuwa Fuwa no Mi (Float-Float Fruit), Shiki burst out laughing.
It was the kind of laugh you let out when someone tells the world's dumbest joke.
"Puhahaha…"
"You? A mere reckless maniac? Capture me, Shiki?!"
"I fought Sengoku the Fleet Admiral and the Hero Garp for three days and three nights before you were even born!"
Below, Gion grew anxious. This man really was reckless! Even after being slashed repeatedly, he was still so stubborn?
Then, in the next second, magma erupted from both of Good's arms.
He grinned wide as the molten heat poured from his limbs like twin fiery columns, burning through the deck and releasing plumes of black smoke.
Gion's pretty face twisted in shock, her mouth falling open.
"Wha—What is this?!"
She was stunned. Wasn't this Admiral Akainu's Devil Fruit ability?
Why was Good able to use it!?
On the deck of Good's warship, the Marines were equally stunned.
"The Reckless Maniac Admiral… has magma arms?!"
"What the hell is going on? That's Akainu's power!"
"I'm starting to question reality… Is he Akainu or Good?!"
"I thought only one person could have a Devil Fruit at a time!"
"…?"
Everyone felt like their understanding of the world was starting to break down.
Even in the sky, Shiki stared in disbelief.
So this guy was a Logia-type user?
Then how the hell did he heal so fast?
Below, Good bellowed, "Gion! Get back! If you get hit, I'm not taking responsibility!"
Still stunned, Gion instinctively backed away. The moment she moved, Good raised his magma-coated fists high.
"Ryūsei Kazan (Meteor Volcano)!!" he roared.
This was the most devastating wide-area technique from the Magma Fruit.
His volcanic power surged into the sky, piercing through the clouds and sending blistering heat in every direction.
The shockwaves forced Gion to leap off the ship and return to Good's flagship.
Back on deck, she swallowed nervously, her heart pounding.
This all felt too surreal.
Meanwhile, Shiki looked completely dumbfounded.
What kind of lunatic uses their ultimate move first?
Veteran fighters usually reserved their big techniques for last—why was this guy throwing it out right away!?
One after another, gigantic fists of magma punched through the clouds and plummeted down like falling meteors.
It was like the end of the world.
Even Shiki wasn't foolish enough to take a Meteor Volcano head-on. He dodged quickly with his flying powers.
His nimble movements let him weave through the blazing onslaught.
But then—
"SHIKI!!!" came a voice from above.
Unnoticed, Good had leapt into the air and now dropped down from above, his fist wrapped in black Armament Haki.
Shiki's eyes widened, and he twisted his body to dodge.
But just as he shifted to the side—magma came crashing down right in his escape path.
It was a trap!?
Shiki's heart skipped a beat. How did this reckless fool predict that?
Could it be… luck?
And in that instant of hesitation, Good's fist smashed into Shiki's stomach.
"URGH!!"
Pain twisted Shiki's face as he was hurled downward like a missile, crashing into a floating battleship.
The ship, suspended in the air moments ago, was slammed back down into the sea with a violent splash.
Waves exploded outward from the impact.
The Marines, regaining their balance, looked up at the scene and cheered in awe.
"Reckless Maniac Admiral is insane!!"
