Chapter 14 - Chapter 14 – Chasing Shiki Across the Sea!

Vice Admiral Candidate Gion couldn't help but feel a surge of excitement.

At first, she'd thought Admiral Good was unreliable—but now she could see why he'd earned the rank. He definitely had the strength to back it up.

On the shattered ship, Shiki shoved aside the wreckage pinning him down and used his twin swords to stand up.

Across from him, Good landed on the deck with a heavy thud, his towering frame smashing a massive crater into the wooden floorboards.

Shiki gritted his teeth as he glared at him. "Damn it…"

That punch hurt. For someone who had Devil Fruit powers, this guy's physical strength was no joke.

But Good just grinned brightly at him. "Not enough! Still not enough!"

Inside his mind, the system's voice echoed:

[Strength +9]

[Speed +9]

[Armament Haki +12]

[Dual Sword Style – Replication Progress: 67%]

[Fuwa Fuwa no Mi (Float-Float Fruit) – Replication Progress: 51%]

He was still short of fully replicating both the sword style and the Devil Fruit. He had to keep fighting!

With a burst of power from his legs, Good rocketed forward like a cannonball.

"Again with this?!" Shiki shouted, exasperated. This guy charged like a raging bull every single time.

This time, Shiki didn't hold back. His pupils dilated as he roared: "Zanpa (Wave Slash)!!"

Massive waves of sword energy erupted forward, slicing the entire ship into three sections as the slashes barreled toward Good.

Thanks to his god-tier battle instincts, Good partially elementalized his body to evade the blows.

However, since he hadn't fully mastered Akainu's Magma-Magma Fruit, his elementalization wasn't perfect. He still took damage.

Blood sprayed out—but Good didn't care.

Actually, scratch that—he was thrilled. "Shiki! More! Keep going!"

[Magma-Magma Fruit Mastery +7] [Strength +9]

[Speed +9] [Armament Haki +12]

[Dual Sword Style – Replication Progress: 73%]

[Fuwa Fuwa no Mi – Replication Progress: 53%]

Shiki was starting to get frustrated.

Screw this guy…

Fed up, he charged forward and began clashing with Good directly.

His twin blades, renowned across the seas, slashed in fierce arcs while Good's fists met them head-on.

Good didn't bother using any abilities—just raw fists and brute strength.

Having sacrificed his intelligence, his mind focused on only one thing: charging forward with reckless abandon. Pure, satisfying brawling.

The clash between them was so intense that the already-damaged warship finally sank beneath the waves.

Though it had been weakened by earlier attacks, it was still a reinforced Navy warship—its destruction was proof of how brutal the fight had become.

The two switched to a nearby escort ship and continued their battle.

Good took hit after hit, trading blows without hesitation. As long as it wasn't a fatal injury, he didn't dodge.

Over time, Shiki began to lose the upper hand. He found himself being pushed back, forced to fight more defensively.

Unlike Good, he didn't have any regenerative powers. The damage added up, slowing his movements.

After a few more exchanges, Shiki could feel it—Good's attacks were getting sharper and harder to handle.

Damn it…

Shiki wasn't willing to admit it, but he was being worn down.

Why the hell are the new generation so hard to beat!?

He remembered his fight with that brat Luffy. That little cockroach just wouldn't die.

Now this guy, Good, was even worse. He didn't just refuse to die—he healed while fighting!

Infuriating!

But Shiki wasn't the kind of man to throw a tantrum. He knew when to retreat.

Once he got out of here and recovered, he'd return for payback—against both Good and that damn Straw Hat.

With that, Shiki decisively turned to flee.

But Good wasn't going to let him go.

He hadn't finished copying the dual sword style or the Float-Float Fruit yet!

Good instantly launched a Dai Funka (Great Eruption) to cut off Shiki's escape path.

Shiki countered with a slash, cleaving through the flames.

But Good didn't let up—Meigo (Dark Hound) and Inugami Guren (Hellhound Lotus) followed in rapid succession.

A barrage of relentless attacks kept Shiki pinned down and unable to escape.

Now focused solely on running, Shiki looked like he was being chased and beaten across the deck.

To the watching Marines, it looked like Admiral Good was completely overwhelming him.

"Didn't we just think the Reckless Maniac Admiral was unreliable? Now he's got Shiki running for his life!"

"Hahaha! If we didn't know that was Shiki, I'd think it was just some no-name pirate!"

"Isn't Good kinda different from the other Admirals? Watching him fight gets your blood pumping!"

"Fist-to-fist, body-to-body combat—this is what you call a real brawl!"

Nearby, Vice Admiral Gion's eyes sparkled with admiration.

She'd always admired powerful men, and there was something about Good's raw, violent elegance that stirred her heart.

Add in his ridiculously handsome face…

Not that she was shallow or anything, but—hey, good looks never hurt.

Especially when you're mad and need something nice to look at.

Well, maybe there was just one little downside…

He might be a little dumb.

On the escort ship's deck, Good was still pounding away at Shiki, keeping him locked down and unable to flee.

Finally, Shiki grit his teeth and made a gamble—he let Good hit him with Inugami Guren, letting the attack engulf him in flames.

His clothes caught fire, but using the momentum of the blast, he launched himself backward and dove into the sea to extinguish the flames and escape.

Good didn't chase immediately.

Because in his mind, a new system message had just popped up:

"Congratulations, Host!

[Fuwa Fuwa no Mi (Float-Float Fruit)] replication complete!

Replication progress: 100%

Commencing mastery accumulation…"
