Later on, Sara is on a gurney, unconscious as John and Charles examine her.
Charles: This is just impossible, John. The nuclear blast itself should've obliterated Sara completely. The only way I can see how she survived is her powers wrapped her in a shield of telekinetic energy. The blast must've knocked her into the wormhole while it was open....it's a miracle that she doesn't even have a scratch on her.
John looks down at his former wife.
Charles: How are you doing?
John: Well, just making sure the kids are alright. They're seeing their mom for the first time in twenty years.
Charles: John, I didn't ask how the kids are doing. I asked how you were doing.
John sighs.
John: My wife was out there...all this time....alive....and all this time I thought she was dead.....wonder what the hell I'm going to tell her when she wakes up...about the kids....about the company....about the team....about....about Arianna.....she was Sara's best friend.....or about Adrian....
Charles: Sara, I don't think catching Sara up to speed to now is what you need to worry about. I had no idea what I was messing with...
John: What do you mean?
Charles: Twenty years ago, I thought we'd shut the door to whatever Dragonov was trying to bring in, but we have two fragments that we thought were just rocks...but now that we've tested it...it turns out there keys....keys that if we open that door again, we don't know what's going to come out on the other side....we might need to check Sara for any infection.
John: What?
Charles looks up to John.
Charles: John, you have to understand.
John: You're talking about my goddamn wife here, Charles!
Charles: And I understand that, but you need to understand that if she caught something of wherever she was and brought it to Earth, it could endanger both humans and Enhumans....
Outside of Exodus labs, the Enhuman community is protesting while others are in support. A news reporter is making a broadcast of the protest.
News Reporter: History is being made as in the next few days, the Enhuman cure will be available and mandatory to the public. Some Enhumans approve of the idea of the cure, but others are offended by the idea.
Amongst the Enhuman crowd, Scarlett hides in disguise as does Genesis and Red Dragon.
At the Exodus labs, Daniels is speaking with an executive.
Executive: Sir, there's a chance the announcement of the cure may have sparked some backlash with a few of the Enhuman community.
Daniels: We knew that this would happen...
Executive: Not to question you, sir, but is this cure the best decision. What if the President says no to the idea?
Daniels: That President should be very understanding what it is I'm trying to do. Make the world safer from the superpowered humans.
Executive: But, sir, Enhumans like the Supers....some deem them as heroes.
Daniels: Steve, this generation of kids shouldn't look up to them as heroes. Just people in costumes....there's a war happening. Maybe this cure can end it.
Outside the facility, Genesis looks up and nods when suddenly, Arachnica uses her spider legs to jump down and impale four guards when suddenly, Scarlett's mask seals up her face and Red Dragon uses his whips as the two Enhumans power up. The Enhuman crowd disperses before Scarlett and Red Dragon bursts through the glass. Genesis flies in with the two as they begin to wreck havoc. Exodus guards arrive on the scene and open fire, but Red Dragon deflects the bullets, before Scarlett uses her energetic blade to slide the weapons apart and stab the guards. Genesis blasts the guards away while Arachnica uses her webs and labs. Security guards escort Daniels to an elevator.
Daniels: What the hell is going on?!
Security Guard: Enhumans! They're attacking the facility!
In the lab, Genesis, Scarlett, Red Dragon, Mongor and Arachnica arrive in the labs, shooting their powers around. Genesis shouts to the human scientists in the room.
Genesis: Get out! All of you! Go!
Mongor: Go! Move your human asses!
Genesis, Scarlett, Red Dragon, Mongor and Arachinica begin to destroy the lab, before Daniels walks in. Armed guards walk in and aim their weapons at the Purifiers.
Daniels: Hey! Stop! Right now! That's company property!
Genesis: Creating a so called cure to end our people?! That's what you call property....You goddamn humans are so scared of us that you're trying to get rid of our gifts.
Daniels steps up.
Daniels: Your gifts have costs humanity lives...innocent lives...and you, Dr. Genesis, are a criminal.
Mongor: Just gimme the word, boss. I'll smash him so good like cockroach on a table.
Genesis raises his hand.
Genesis: Mongor...easy, boy. You know why we're here.
Daniels: This Enhuman cure is necessary to make us all safe. Think about it; you could just be normal. Finally be accepted by society. Your disease needs to be purged!
Arachnica uses a spider-leg to backhand Daniels.
Arachnica: Our powers are not a disease!
Daniel looks up at the Purifiers, smiling.
Scarlett: Dad, let me kill this piece of shit.
Genesis turns to Scarlett, then Daniels, before kneeling.
Genesis: This is your only warning. If the President approves and that cure goes out, my Purifiers and I will be back....and bleed will be shed. Human blood.
Daniels: I only want to help.
Red Dragon: Do we look like we need you help?
The Purifiers leave, glaring at Daniels. At Parker Tower, Sara and Kala remain unconscious, before Sara begins to move her head. The Owl raises his head as James and Eva's mouth's drop.
James: No way.
Eva: Dad.....Dad!
John turns before he, Eva, James, Charles, Trisha, Josh, Maria, Alex and Jessica surround Sara.
James: V.O.X.?
V.O.X.: Her pulse is 178...She's waking up.
Sara begins to wake up as Charles points a flashlight at her eyes.
Charles: Pupillary reflexes good. No sighs of trauma to the-
John moves Charles out of the way.
John: Get the flashlight out of her damn eyes, Charles!
Charles: Hey!
James: Dad....
John leans in and speaks to Sara.
John: Sara....can you hear me? Sara?
Sara finally fully wakens with her looking around, confused.
John: Sara? Baby?
Sara then suddenly punches John in the face, before sitting up and kicking Jessica across the face. Sara then stands up, ready to fight.
Josh: Whoa!
Charles: Sara! You need to lie back down!
Sara throws medical equipment at Eva as James attempts to restrain her.
Charles: Sedate her! V.O.X.?!
V.O.X.: Her pulse is rising! She's confused! She doesn't know who she is!
Josh: No shit!
Sara headbutts James, before punching Trisha and backhanding Maria. Alex attempts to calm Sara.
Alex: Mrs. Parker!
Sara turns and punches Alex in the face, before she uses her telepathy to hold strangle Eva, lifting her off of her feet.
Eva: Mom....I....
John: Sara! Stop!
Trisha: Grab her!
Josh uses electricity to stun Sara, allowing Trisha, Josh, Alex and Jessica to restrain her. John, with a bloody nose, steps in front of Sara and touches her shoulder.
John: Sara! Stop! It's me! It's John! Your husband!
Sara finally calms down after finally recognizing John.
Sara: John? John?
John smiles.
John: It's okay. It's okay.....
John nods to Josh, Trisha, Alex and Jessica as they release Sara, stepping back. Sara smiles then kisses John, passionately. Trisha then whistles.
Josh: This is awkward.
Jessica: Hush you. It is been so long since they've seen each other.
After the kiss, Sara smiles.
Sara: I missed you so much.
John: I missed you, too.
Sara gives a frantic look.
Sara: Oh, my god! The portal! Dragonov! The portal! We have to shut it down!
John: Sara! Listen to me! Hey, it's okay! Dragonov. The portal. Sara, that was-that was in 1996. Twenty years ago. The year is 2016. We stopped it. We closed the portal.
Sara gives a confused look.
Sara: 1996? 2016? Twenty years? I've been gone for twenty years?
John shrugs.
Sara: Well, shit.....that explains why you look old.
John laughs, before Sara looks around at the lab.
Sara: Where am I?
John: Parker Tower...
Sara turns to John, then looks at Charles.
Sara: Charles....
Charles: Hello, Sara. It's good to see you again.
Sara then looks at James and Eva.
Sara: James? Eva? My kids?
James smiles.
James: Hi, Mom.
Eva: Hi.....
Sara hugs James and Eva.
Sara: My god....look at you both....you got so big! My little Sun Sorceress and my little Dragonfly.
Josh snickers.
Alex: It's so cute.
James: Hey, now. I'm still the one with the armor.
Sara then turns to Trisha, Josh, Alex and Jessica, approaching the four.
Sara: Enhumans. All four of you.
Sara turns to Josh.
Sara: Electricity.
Josh smiles, before she turns to Jessica.
Sara: Invisibility.
Sara turns to Trisha.
Sara: Neon....
Sara turns to Alex.
Sara: Arianna's son...with the power of fire and ice.
Alex: You know who I am?
Sara: From reading your mind, yes....
Sara frowns.
Sara: I'm sorry. Your mother....she was one of my best friends.
Alex nods in appreciation, before she turns to Maria.
Maria: Oh, uh...I'm just a regular human, but....The neon Enhuman here is my sister.
Sara then turns to notice the unconscious Kala.
Sara: Who's that?
Charles: This is Kala. She's a neon Enhuman like Trisha. She had an encounter with an alien fragment.
Sara turns to John.
Sara: Alien fragment?
John: Sara, we can talk about that later....right now, you need rest and you're probably hungry.
Charles: Whoa, whoa, wait! We need to take some serious precaution with the fragments!
Sara: You have a fragment?!
Charles: Two. It's how we brought you here!
Sara: You have to destroy them, then! Destroy them now!
John: Whoa, whoa, Sara. We will. We'll hide them. Make sure we never touched again.
Sara: Please, you need to. If it gets into the wrong hands, God knows what will happen.
