Chapter 5 - Influencer Xiao Huahua

"Handsome, we've arrived!"

The taxi pulled up in front of the Ferrari Center.

Cai Kun paid the driver and stepped out, his eyes drawn to the prancing horse logo atop the building, stirring excitement in his chest.

Before leaving, Cai Kun had already decided: the very first thing after arriving in Shanghai would be to buy a car.

Luxury cars and beautiful women had always been the dream of countless men — Cai Kun was no exception.

Maybach, Bentley, Rolls-Royce... those business-style brands weren't on his radar; after all, his family already owned plenty of those.

His sole focus was supercars.

Young men didn't need to be quiet and reserved.

They craved boldness and flashiness.

A streamlined body combined with the roar of a beastly engine—that was how youthful passion was unleashed.

Compared to the flashy Lamborghini, Cai Kun preferred Ferrari.

The originator of sports cars.

In terms of history and heritage, Ferrari was undeniably number one, carrying an unmatched prestige.

A first car always held special meaning.

So Cai Kun had to pick the one he truly loved. The rest could wait.

After all, he wasn't going to buy just one car.

The Ferrari Center was a modern two-story building with an expansive footprint.

Glass walls stretched everywhere, allowing passersby a clear view inside.

Inside rested row after row of Ferraris, their perfect curves gleaming under the lights, the iconic red paint shining.

Silent, as if resting, but ready to transform into raging beasts on the road.

Cai Kun stepped to the entrance.

Automatic doors slid open, and the cool air from the air-conditioning washed away the August heat of Shanghai.

Inside, the showroom was quiet.

Apart from the parked cars, the few staff members present kept their heads down, busy with their tasks, leaving the space hushed and slightly intimidating.

Most people would hesitate to step forward.

But not Cai Kun.

He wasn't surprised. Supercars like Ferrari belonged to the pinnacle of luxury goods.

Prices often reached into the millions, far beyond what ordinary people could afford.

In his past life, he wouldn't have even dared to approach the store's entrance.

Sparse customers were the norm; a busy showroom would be abnormal.

This exclusivity only elevated the brand's aura.

Many luxury companies followed this model.

No matter how many visitors came, only one customer and their companions were allowed inside at a time.

Others would have to wait outside until the current transaction finished.

This cycle continued indefinitely.

On the surface, it was said to provide one-on-one service, but it was also clever marketing—creating an exclusive, high-end image.

A noisy store full of people would feel more like a marketplace, not fitting for such a prestigious brand.

"Hello, sir, welcome to the Ferrari Center. Do you have an appointment?"

Just inside, a tall young woman approached.

She wore gold-rimmed glasses, a black suit jacket, a pencil skirt, black stockings, and heels.

A typical sales outfit that perfectly outlined her curves.

Her figure was full-bodied, in just the right way.

Though young, an aura of extreme maturity radiated from her—deeply alluring.

"Xiao Huahua?"

Cai Kun's eyes flickered in surprise.

Why was she here?

Despite appearing younger than he remembered, Cai Kun recognized her immediately.

This was Xiao Huahua—the influencer who would later explode in popularity on Douyin (Chinese TikTok).

In an era where pale and skinny were the beauty standard, Xiao Huahua's fuller S-shaped figure carved out a unique path.

She became one of the most popular female influencers within days, earning the title of "Beautiful Saleswoman" and gaining millions of followers rapidly.

"Why is she here?"

Cai Kun was surprised, but then it made sense.

Before her fame, Xiao Huahua was just an ordinary furniture saleswoman.

Now it was 2016, and Douyin was still in its infancy, struggling financially.

No one really knew Xiao Huahua's backstory.

Her presence as a Ferrari sales consultant wasn't that strange after all.

"Sir?"

Seeing Cai Kun silent, Xiao Huahua looked at him with some confusion.

Snapping back to focus, Cai Kun shook his head. "No appointment."

"All right."

Xiao Huahua smiled gently. "May I ask your surname, sir?"

"Cai."

Xiao Huahua bowed slightly. "Welcome, Mr. Cai. I'm Xiao Huahua, Ferrari sales consultant. You can call me Huahua."

"This is your first time at our Ferrari Center, right? Please, have a seat. I'll introduce the models we have for sale, so you can see which one suits you best."

She gestured toward the lounge area, ready to lead him there.

"No need."

Cai Kun waved her off. "Just take me straight to order the car. I already have a model in mind."

Xiao Huahua froze, covering her mouth in disbelief.

She'd only been working here a month.

High-end brands had big commissions but shockingly low sales rates.

It was common to go years without a single deal, then suddenly close several in one burst.

She hadn't dared hope much when Cai Kun arrived.

Firstly, he was too young, had no appointment, and wore plain clothes.

Secondly, buying a car here usually took at least half a month of back and forth.

The experienced salespeople could tell at a glance if someone was a real buyer.

No one had made a move, signaling Cai Kun wasn't a serious customer.

As a rookie, Xiao Huahua had no reason to refuse, so she attended to him.

But Cai Kun's decisiveness left her unsure how to respond.

Less than five minutes had passed since he entered.

"You can't just order a car directly?"

Cai Kun raised an eyebrow.

"Of course you can!"

Xiao Huahua felt as if a wave of joy had struck her head, her smile growing wider.

"Mr. Cai, please follow me. I'll take you to the customization room."

Cai Kun nodded and followed her footsteps.

It was his first time stepping into a place like this, both in this life and the last.

He wasn't in a rush to order—he was intrigued by the surroundings.

Carbon fiber steering wheels, leather seats, embroidered gold logos...

All sorts of exquisite options.

He clicked his tongue in admiration.

He didn't mind showing a bit of naivety in front of Xiao Huahua.

Only those who couldn't afford it would fear being judged by salespeople.

With enough money, innocence was simply honesty.

Xiao Huahua patiently waited behind him.

After a while, she pulled out an iPad and asked, "Mr. Cai, which Ferrari model are you planning to order this time?"

Cai Kun smiled lightly. "La Ferrari."
