Chapter 8 - Chapter 7 – Chris & The Stranger

Chapter 7 – Chris & The Stranger

Our conversations continued online—it was simply more convenient, more natural. And I think it's time to give this man a name. Let's call him "Chris," our classic alpha male.

Chris had light brown hair, stood about 187 cm tall, with an athletic build. His nose was a little big—just enough to notice—but it gave his face character. Fair-skinned, with symmetrical, defined eyebrows, and well-balanced lips. Probably around 80 to 85 kilograms. He had the kind of face that turned heads. The kind most people secretly hoped to meet.

Then one day, a message came from a different account.

The new guy introduced himself and started the usual small talk: "Let's be friends, get to know each other, just a little chat…" That kind of thing. I politely declined him once, maybe twice—explaining I was just there to meet people casually, nothing more.

But he was persistent. Polite, warm, never pushy. For a moment, I even wondered—was this Chris testing me with a fake profile? I wouldn't have been surprised.

Later, I'd learn he wasn't. He was someone else entirely.

I was young and foolish then. I gave short answers, sometimes trying to end the conversation quickly. Still, in one of those moments, I let slip the name of the town I lived in. He picked up on it immediately—asked what it was like, what he could see if he visited.

Before I knew it, I was listing places. Our conversations started to grow, slowly, off and on.

At the time, I believed he was just curious. That his intentions were innocent.

Was I wrong? Was it kindness, or was it a trap disguised as kindness? I couldn't tell.

But we'll find out—sooner or later.
