Chapter 116 - Ch 116

Unfortunately, aside from the android and infinite energy technologies, the artificial devil fruit technology that Kagami was most interested in was simply unattainable in the ninja world. The most crucial material for creating artificial devil fruits was a substance found in the "lineage factor" of a Devil Fruit user's blood. Without this factor, creating a devil fruit from scratch was impossible, and there were no Devil Fruit users in this world. Although he had fused with the Vegapunk template, he himself was not considered a true Devil Fruit user, so the necessary substances could not be extracted from his own blood.

Therefore, the artificial devil fruit technology was effectively useless. Kagami felt a pang of regret. He had imagined how much more interesting the world would become if he could introduce devil fruits, but he didn't dwell on it for too long. They would have been a nice addition, but it didn't matter if he didn't have them.

Beyond these technologies, the most significant improvement the Vegapunk template brought to Kagami was the tenfold amplification of the Brain-Brain Fruit's power. In the world of One Piece, the fruit's ability seemed to be limited to granting a brain with unlimited storage capacity, with the unfortunate side effect of the user's brain growing larger as more knowledge was stored.

But that wasn't the whole story. Now possessing the fruit's power himself, Kagami could confirm that it not only turned the brain into an infinite-capacity storage drive but also actively developed the user's brain. Most importantly, it could make the user's brain calculate as fast as a supercomputer.

In One Piece, Vegapunk had only used the fruit as a massive USB drive because he lacked the conceptual framework to do otherwise. He didn't even have the concept of a "supercomputer." Or perhaps, being so intelligent, he trusted his own wisdom too much and was blinded by his own cleverness. But as a transmigrator, Kagami, while not as intelligent as Vegapunk, had a broader range of experience and a more vivid imagination. This allowed him to see a new path for the Brain-Brain Fruit's development almost immediately.

To use the Brain-Brain Fruit as a mere storage device was, in Kagami's opinion, a colossal waste of its true potential. The correct way to use it was as a supercomputer. One could only imagine what would happen if a human brain was elevated to such a level—it might even be possible to become an omniscient and omnipotent god, much like the protagonist in the movie Lucy. Even if the original fruit couldn't achieve this, his tenfold amplified version made it possible.

However, turning his brain into a supercomputer was not something he could do with a simple thought. If it were that easy, Vegapunk would have awakened its true power long ago. To achieve this, Kagami needed to understand supercomputer technology himself and slowly develop his brain's capacity. But after setting this goal, he immediately wanted to try a simple experiment. While he didn't know the algorithms for a supercomputer, he understood the basics of an ordinary computer. It shouldn't be a problem to make his brain simulate one.

As Kagami focused his will, a bizarre sensation bloomed in his mind. It felt as if a special, virtual space was manifesting within his consciousness—a virtual computer, complete with all the necessary components: memory, a hard drive, a CPU, a graphics card. Not only that, but he felt his own body become somewhat unreal, as if his consciousness, his very soul, was being drawn into this virtual computer like a stream of data.

When his mind fully entered this virtual space, he found that the speed of his thoughts became unbelievably fast, almost beyond description. The feeling grew stronger as he became more familiar with this new state. One second... two seconds... three... After more than ten seconds, Kagami exited the state and regained control of his body, an expression of utter disbelief on his face.

As he began to think, he felt his brain instantly re-enter that mysterious state. It was like becoming a god who controlled the laws of operation, with everything around him falling under his complete command. He could clearly feel every cell in his brain firing at an incredible rate, as if they were being constantly developed and optimized. His mind became extraordinarily clear. The flight paths of every speck of dust in the air around him became visible, and he could instantly calculate their exact landing points.

"Is this what it feels like to have your brain unlocked to 100 percent?" he thought, stunned. The sheer amount of dust in the air was astronomical, yet he had just calculated the trajectory of every single particle around him. It was an incredible, impossible feat.

"So this... this is the true power of the Brain-Brain Fruit." A storm of emotion raged in Kagami's heart, and he couldn't calm down for a long time. He was sure his guess was correct. The fruit really could turn a human brain into a supercomputer. He had only simulated an ordinary computer, yet his brain had already achieved this level. Once he researched the algorithms and technology for supercomputing, he would likely be able to develop his brain into a true supercomputer. At that point, he might really be able to become omniscient and omnipotent.

"It seems the idea of making the brain work like a computer is correct," he thought, his face alight with excitement. He felt an incredible sense of elation, as if he had just discovered a smooth, clear path to godhood.
