Without hesitation, Kagami immediately began to use his brain as a computer, calculating various data at an incredible speed. He wanted to use this extreme state to rapidly iterate on computer technology, devise more efficient algorithms, and evolve his brain into an even more advanced supercomputer to explore the unknown. His mind was like a high-speed train, flying through an ocean of numbers, each leap bringing an unprecedented sense of pleasure.
However, as the calculations continued, Kagami could clearly feel his brain becoming more flexible, while his emotions seemed to be gradually weakening. He felt as if he were turning into a cold, ruthless machine, with only a desire for data and algorithms remaining in his heart. The world around him seemed to lose its color, leaving only monotonous black, white, and gray. He felt a profound sense of loneliness, a barrier forming between himself and the world, the price he paid for his pursuit of ultimate intellect.
But everything was still under his control, so he did not stop. He was still calculating more advanced algorithms, working tirelessly. His brain was operating at a frantic pace, every neuron firing, consuming a tremendous amount of energy. Only when he felt a swelling pain in his brain did he immediately stop and exit the "computer state." The pain made it difficult to concentrate; he knew he had reached his limit.
"It seems this is the limit for now," he muttered to himself. He knew his body couldn't provide enough energy to support the continued high-speed functioning of his brain. If he forced it, his brain would die from energy depletion. The short calculation had consumed a massive amount of his physical energy. The bloating and pain were signs of his brain's energy deprivation. If he hadn't already integrated multiple powerful templates, he might have been reduced to a dried-up corpse. As it was, he had become gaunt and skeletal, his skin clinging to his bones as if all moisture had been sucked out.
He couldn't help but let out a wry smile. "It seems that to make the brain run like a computer, it still requires a sufficient energy supply." He sat cross-legged and used the last of his chakra to notify the clones that were constantly refining nature energy. These clones, always on standby to provide energy, were now desperately needed. With the influx of sage chakra from more than a dozen disappearing clones, his body was finally restored to its original state.
He let out a long breath, feeling his body full of strength again. He then began to think and summarize what had just happened. While it was feasible to use his brain as a supercomputer, it required an immense amount of energy. Also, as his brain became more like a computer, his human emotions seemed to weaken, or even disappear. He wasn't sure if he would still be considered human after fully developing his brain. He might become an omniscient god, but one devoid of any emotion.
The loss would outweigh the gain. He wanted unparalleled computing power, but he didn't want to lose his emotions. So, he decided to halt the development of his brain, at least until he could find a way to solve the problem of emotional disappearance.
This attempt had given him a rough understanding of the Brain-Brain Fruit's abilities. He could only maintain the computer state for about ten minutes at a time. After that, his brain would return to normal. But ten minutes was enough. In that state, the improvements he could make in deducing ninjutsu or researching technology were equivalent to years of work in a normal state. In battle, ten minutes was more than enough.
The energy problem could also be solved. He had the technology for infinite energy. After integrating the Vegapunk template, he should be able to design an external power source for his brain. Once he solved the energy problem, he might be able to maintain the "computer state" permanently. He decided to call it "Overclocking Mode."
The potential of the Brain-Brain Fruit exceeded his wildest imagination. He felt this experiment hadn't even unleashed one ten-thousandth of its true power. If he could fully develop it, or even awaken it, he might truly become an omniscient god. But as long as the problem of emotional disappearance remained, he wouldn't dare to continue.
Without thinking any further, Kagami turned his attention back to his own shadow. Ever since he had merged with the Megumi Fushiguro template, he had felt something new residing within it. He closed his eyes and concentrated, feeling a faint, mysterious force writhing in the darkness, as if waiting to break free. He seemed to be able to control it, to make it act according to his will. Based on the Ten Shadows Technique, he easily guessed that these were the shikigami.
Focusing his senses, he immediately perceived the two Divine Dogs lurking in the shadows. It seemed that as long as he formed the correct hand seals, he could summon them. He couldn't sense any of the other shikigami; it seemed they had not yet been subdued. But Kagami wasn't worried. With his strength, subduing the others, even the mighty Mahoraga, would not be a problem.
He immediately formed the hand seal. "Divine Dogs!"
Two shadows, one black and one white, burst forth from his own shadow like bolts of lightning. The two Divine Dogs were enormous, as large as the Nine-Tails, their forms exuding a jade-like luster while still appearing majestic and powerful.
