Chapter 63 - Chapter 63: The Sensei from Another World [Part 2]

Hey, Schale's Sensei here. Last time, things nearly went south, but Mash-kun's absurd strength saved the day.

What am I doing now? Haha, curious?

I'm…

"29… 30… huff…"

"Keep it up, Sensei! Five sets!"

"Ugh…"

Doing 30 burpee jumps, five sets, with Mash-kun. Brutal. Why'd this happen?

My fault. I wanted to bond with Mash-kun beyond cream puffs, so I brought up his favorite topic: training. In a burst of excitement, I said:

"Can I train with you? Matching your pace?"

Stupid. I regret it. It's practically suicide.

"Sorry, Sensei. You invited me, but I finished in 20 seconds."

"It's… fine…"

20 seconds for burpees? That's insane. They're exhausting, right?

"Fight, Sensei, fight!"

Why isn't he sweating?

"Appreciate the cheer… but this is rough…"

"You said you'd do it."

"Ugh."

"Black Suit did 50,000 push-ups, 50,000 sit-ups, 10,000 leg raises, 10,000 squats—two sets."

"…Black Suit?"

"Yup."

"The Gematria Black Suit who tricked Hoshino and messed up Kivotos?"

"That's him."

"He did that!?"

"Told him to do it for my secret."

Mash-kun—terrifying kid! Facing that creepy Black Suit so boldly? His look makes kids cry.

"Picture it, Sensei: you, jacked, ripped…"

"Me, jacked… surrounded by students…"

Me, bigger, stronger… means I could—

Wrap students in my arms.

Heal Hina, Hoshino, Mika with my body!?

"Sensei… you okay?"

"I'm doing it, Mash-kun."

"?"

"I'll get jacked!"

"Nice! You'll 'wrap and heal students'… huh?"

"More routines, Mash-kun! Hurry! Let's go!"

"Uh… okay." Backing away.

Wait for me, Hina, Hoshino, Mika! I'll heal you!

"Sensei, cooled off?"

"…Yeah."

"You burned out like Black Suit."

Stupid. I was stupid. One session won't transform me. I got too hyped.

"You're amazing, Mash-kun. Daily, huh?"

"Yup."

"Not tough?"

"Grandpa made me do it since forever. Hated it at first, but it got fun."

"Your grandpa sounds nice."

"Kind, great guy."

His softened expression said it all—his grandpa's a good man.

"Your work here sounds tough. Hard?"

"Busy, sure, but you can't quit halfway."

"Haha, same. Last question: what do you think of the students?"

"They're precious. I'd die to protect them."

Clear, confident. Yup, he's a Sensei like me.

"My turn to ask. What do you think of me?"

"Reliable, trustworthy, strong… lots of things."

"Nice."

"But one thing's certain: you're someone to protect."

"Protect? I'm pretty strong."

"Doesn't matter. You're a kid here. I treat you as a student. Protecting students is my job."

"…!"

"So, rely on me if you're in trouble. You're not Sensei here—you're a student."

"…Got it. I'll rely on you."

"Good."

He's blushing—cute. Gap moe, huh?

"Let's head back and figure out how to get you home."

"Oh, forgot about that."

"The one thing you can't forget!"

"It'll work out."

"So casual!"

While he's here, I'll protect him. That's an adult's duty.

Time to plan—

BOOM!

"What!?"

"Explosion… from the city."

"Ten-minute run. Mash-kun, stay—"

"Gotta go." Grab.

"Mash-kun? Why're you grabbing… carrying me?"

"Hang on. Keep your mouth shut—it's dangerous."

"Wait, Mash-kun, no way—"

Mash crouched, muscles bulging. Impressive up close…

"Hamstring Magic: Big Bang Dash!"

"Hamstring… Magic? Magic—"

WHOOSH!

"NOOOO!?"

Wind pressure! My face! I'll die if I don't duck! Magic!?

"Stay conscious!"

Don't ask the impossible!

In the city, Helmet Gang rampaged with weapons and a tank.

"Haha! Tear it up!"

"Disinfect the filth!"

"Is this okay?"

"Fine! Even if Schale's Sensei comes, we've got a tank and weapons—Wait, what!?"

Mash and Sensei arrived.

"No more chaos. Me and… Sensei will stop you."

"…" Passed out.

"Isn't your Sensei half-dead!?"

Sensei, dizzy from Mash's speed, was out.

"Gasp! Nearly saw heaven…"

"Tch, trouble's here."

"Why're you doing this?"

"To seize this turf!"

Helmet Gang aimed at them. Mash set Sensei down, cracking his knuckles.

"These guys exist here too."

"Haha, you gonna behave?"

"Nope."

"Thought so."

"Perfect. Take out the Sensei, and our plan's smooth!"

They aimed at Sensei. Mash stepped in front.

"Who're you!?"

"Mash Burnedead… Sensei's student."

"No halo? What's your deal?"

"To stop you."

"Stop us? Pfft!"

HAHAHAHA!

They laughed mockingly. Mash tilted his head.

"Idiot!"

"My stomach!"

"You? Stop us? Impossible!"

"Won't know till I try."

"Oh yeah? Then—"

"Mash-kun, dodge!"

"Die with your Sensei!"

They fired. Sensei shouted, but Mash didn't flinch. He calmly raised a hand—

SLAPSLAPSLAPSLAP!

"What!?"

"Ugh!?"

Mash swatted bullets away—one-handed.

"If it's focused fire, I don't need fists."

"Huh? What'd he do!?"

"Must be a mistake! No human swats bullets! With slaps!?"

(Back-and-forth slaps stop bullets? For real?)

"Then try this!"

A sniper shot came. Mash kicked it away.

"Yah!" Whoosh!

"Eek!?"

(He kicked it!)

"Kicked a sniper bullet… Then—!"

Helmet Gang surrounded them. Sensei panicked.

"No matter how strong, you can't block all sides!"

"True."

"Mash-kun!?"

"See? Now die!"

They fired, smoke rising.

"Stop! Haha, that's what you—huh?"

"Where'd they go!?"

"Bullet marks, but…"

Smoke cleared—no Mash or Sensei, just cracked ground. Helmet Gang searched frantically. A scream pointed upward.

"Above!"

"Above… what?"

Mash, flapping his legs, flew with Sensei on his back.

"If I can't block, I dodge. Battle basics."

Flap flap flap!

"What… what's happening?"

"He's flying!?"

Helmet Gang freaked. Their leader snapped.

"He's just floating! Can't move! Shoot!"

They reloaded and fired.

Whoosh!

"Damn, he's dodging!"

"How's he so fast like that!?"

"Running out of ammo!"

"Shot too much earlier!"

"Then the tank's cannon!"

"No you don't. Sensei, diving!"

"Wait, a dive!?"

Mash dove, crushing the tank with his foot before it fired.

"Perfect 100-point landing."

"The tank!"

"No tank. Still fighting?"

"Of course!"

"Fine… Sensei, this might startle you." Clench.

"You've done enough…"

Mash raised his fist, slamming it into the ground, splitting it in two. Helmet Gang collapsed.

"Gah!?"

"No way… even Mika doesn't do this!"

Mash approached the leader, snatching their helmet.

"Next time you trouble Sensei—this happens."

He crushed it. Helmet Gang fled in terror.

"This is muscle power—no! Training alone does this!?"

"It does, Sensei."

"What?"

"Just as you'll protect me, I'll protect you—while I'm here."

Mash approached, helping Sensei up.

"Haha, got a reliable ally."

"Sensei, from now on—"

As Mash spoke, he began to glow.

"!?"

"This… am I going back?"

"Now!?"

"Just said I'd protect you. Convenient timing."

"Too meta, Mash-kun."

"Sorry, can't protect you."

Sensei smiled.

"It's fine. I've got students here, like in your world. I won't die easily."

"Sensei…"

"I'll protect this world. You protect yours—take care of your students, okay?"

"Got it."

The light intensified, Mash fading. Sensei shouted:

"Keep going, Mash-kun! You're kind and strong! Live proudly!"

Mash's final words:

"You too, Sensei. See you… someday."

He vanished, leaving Sensei alone.

"Keep going… Mash-kun… no, Mash Burnedead Sensei."

"Sensei!"

"Mash-sensei!"

Mash woke in Schale's office, surrounded by Yuuka, Rin, Hoshino, Hina, Tsurugi, Alice, Siroko—his students.

"Sensei, thank goodness!"

"Whoa… Siroko-chan, everyone…"

"Ugh, we searched forever!"

"We were so worried…"

"Sensei's awake! Quest cleared!"

"What happened to me?"

"You vanished from Kivotos for two days."

"Every academy was in chaos… Federal Student Council ordered a search."

"Alice searched everywhere!"

"Hoshino-san and Siroko-san found you collapsed in Abydos' desert, brought you here."

"Sorry for worrying you."

Mash pondered—was it a dream? A hallucination? But more important now:

"Hey… everyone."

"?"

"Do you… know me?"

Mash was scared. In that other world, no one knew him. Being forgotten by friends hurt deeply.

Their reply:

"What're you saying? Of course we know you!"

"Obviously."

"Memory loss!?"

"Calling Emergency Medical now."

"I'll contact Rescue Knights!"

"Sorry, Sensei, I overworked you…"

"Alice knows! Punching fixes lost memories!"

"No, Alice-chan!"

Their panic and concern gave Mash his answer.

"Everyone…"

"?"

"I'm back."

They didn't understand, but replied:

"Welcome back, Sensei!"

Mash returned to his world, to his beloved students.
