Chapter 2 - The First Job

The city lights glowed in the distance.Rael walked quickly through the back streets, his heart pounding. He didn't know where he was going. He didn't even know if this was real.

But the voice in his head kept talking.

Mission: Steal something worth over 10,000 credits.Time Limit: 2 hours.Better hurry, host. You ain't got no time to waste.

Rael gritted his teeth. "You think I don't know that?"

Nope. Just making sure.

He passed a broken neon sign and stopped. There it was—a pawn shop.

Late at night, but the lights were still on.He peeked inside. The owner, an old man with thick glasses, sat behind the counter, watching something on his tablet. There were items everywhere—watches, old laptops, rings, bracelets…

Rael swallowed.

10,000 credits? That was a lot.He couldn't just grab a pair of headphones and run.He needed something big and costly.

💡 System Tip: That gold-plated relic watch on the second shelf is worth exactly 12,500 credits. Bingo.

Rael's eyes darted to it.Small. Shiny. Locked behind a glass case.

"Of course it's locked," he muttered.

Break the case. Grab it. Run. Simple.

He looked around. A rusty iron pipe lay on the side of the alley. He picked it up, walked around the back of the shop, and found a side door left slightly open.

"Am I really going to do this?" he whispered.

Yes. Or you can go back to being useless.

Those words pushed him.

He slipped inside quietly. The old man was still watching his tablet, not looking up. Rael crept closer, holding his breath.

CRASH!

The pipe smashed the glass. The man suddenly jerked up. "Hey!"

Rael grabbed the watch and bolted out the door.

"Thief! Stop!"

Alarms rang. Lights flashed. But Rael didn't stop running.

His lungs burned. His legs screamed in pain. But he didn't stop.

He didn't stop until he reached an old parking lot two blocks away and dropped to the ground, panting, watch still in hand.
