That's why God exists.
Not a god of faith, but a being created by nature itself. Its only purpose is to keep balance, to manage the endless cycle of corruption before it destroys everything. But even God had limits.
That's when I appeared.
I had no name, so let's just call me Kaien.
I was born human—ordinary, unnoticed, unwanted. Nobody cared whether I existed. I drifted through life, invisible.
Until I met her.
She saw me. Spoke to me. Treated me like I mattered. For the first time, I felt something close to happiness.
But then, she died.
That's when it began.
I didn't rage. I didn't cry. I just... broke.
My mind twisted. My soul decayed. I began to corrupt—but not like others. I was still human. But the corruption didn't grow around me; it grew inside me, from my own feelings.
That's what made God notice me.
I was the first human-shaped corruption. A walking paradox. And maybe… the only one capable of truly erasing corruption from existence.
So, God approached me—not to destroy me, but to offer a choice.
And said "You've imagined a power that could delete corruption completely… something even I can't do. But that same power makes you a danger to everything. So I offer you this:
You'll enter an infinite loop of possibilities.
In every single one, the girl you loved is destined to die.
If you save her in even one possibility, you'll be free to live.
But if you fail in all of them, you'll help me destroy corruption—forever."
I agreed.
And thus began my endless journey.
