The tension in the air was palpable as Dmitri and Elías stood facing each other. Dmitri reached out, his hand hovering in the air as if afraid to touch Elías.
"Please, Elías," he begged, his voice thick with emotion. "Give me a chance to make things right. Come back with me."
Elías stepped back, his eyes filled with a mixture of sadness and resolve. "I can't, Dmitri," he said softly. "I can't go back to that life. I've built a new one here, one where I'm free from the shadows and the lies."
Dmitri's face crumpled with despair. "But… I love you," he said, his voice cracking with emotion. "I'll do anything to win you back."
Elías shook his head, tears welling up in his eyes. "I loved you too, Dmitri," he said, his voice barely a whisper. "But love isn't enough. You have to change, to confront your demons. And I can't be there to watch you destroy yourself."
