Chapter 32 - Truth That Hurts but Heals

After a deep breath, Harry picked up his phone and called Ken over to his house.

As always, Ken didn't ask any questions—he simply came.

The moment Ken entered the house, he saw Sejal quietly sitting on the sofa. Smiling warmly, he walked over to her and gently said,

> "Jaan, you must be tired from work. I'm sure you haven't eaten anything all day."

Hearing those words, Sejal felt a pang of guilt and tenderness in her chest.

Still, she softly replied,

> "You've also come from work, Ken… You must be tired too. Did you have lunch?"

Ken smiled kindly.

> "That's nothing. I'm used to it. I just want to make sure you're okay… so I work a bit harder."

Sejal's heart ached a little more.

She thought to herself—

> "Ken thinks about me so deeply… He's truly a good man.

But how do I tell him now… that I still love Dean?

That I've been secretly meeting Dean…

It'll break him."

Just then, Harry walked into the room and gently interrupted their conversation.

> "Ken, I actually called you over today to talk about something very important."

Ken nodded politely.

> "Yes, dada. Tell me, what is it?"

Harry paused for a moment before speaking clearly and calmly,

> "Ken, you've known my sister for years… and you also know how deeply she's always loved Dean, even since childhood.

And I know Dean has always loved her too."

Ken glanced at Sejal, confused.

Harry continued,

> "I understand the engagement was arranged quickly, with both families' approval.

But the truth is… Sejal isn't happy.

She's been hiding this from you—

but she and Dean are still in love."

Ken's face froze in shock. He looked at Sejal and then back at Harry, trying to process everything.

Just then, Sejal's phone started ringing. It was Dean.

Harry answered the call and asked Dean to come over immediately.

Within a few minutes, Dean arrived at Harry's place.

Seeing Dean at the door, Ken was silent, trying to read the emotions in everyone's eyes.

Dean approached Harry and said respectfully,

> "Harry, you're a good man… and I appreciate that you gave us the space to be honest today.

But I must say this now—

Sejal truly loves me.

Would you want someone you love to live every day pretending to be happy?"

Ken didn't say a word. He just listened.

Dean turned to him now, speaking gently but firmly,

> "I know her family would never accept me, and that's fine.

But Ken, would you really want Sejal to stay in a life where she isn't happy?

Where she slowly breaks down mentally and emotionally?

Would that be fair to her… or to you?"

Ken slowly turned toward Sejal.

Sejal's eyes welled with emotion.

She looked directly at Ken and spoke softly,

> "Ken, you've always been so kind to me… but I'm not the right person for you.

I never was.

I've always seen you as my best friend—my childhood friend.

And that hasn't changed."
