Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: Hunted by My Own

~Annalyn POV~

The hallway felt like a trap the next morning, with Ezra blocking my path like he owned the damn place. His runes glowed faintly under his shirt, and that smirk of his made my skin crawl—and, annoyingly, heat up. My necklace, that crescent moon thing Mama gave me, was practically humming in his presence, like it knew him.

"What's with this?" I held up the pendant, glaring. "It's glowing around you. Spill."

Ezra's eyes flicked to the necklace, then back to me, all slow and smug. "That's no ordinary trinket, Annalyn. It's a lunar charm, tied to the Moon Alpha prophecy. Your mother didn't just hand you jewelry—she gave you a piece of the puzzle."

I blinked. "A puzzle? It's a necklace, not a treasure map."

He chuckled, stepping closer. Too close. "Oh, it's more than that. It's a beacon, a key. And right now, it's reacting to me because I'm part of your fate."

"Fate?" I snorted, crossing my arms. "You sound like a cheesy romance novel."
