Chapter 142 - Chapter 142 Drifting on the Sea (Part 1)

"Mm…"

Conan's eyelids twitched slightly, and he slowly opened his eyes.

Looking at the vast, boundless sea before him, he was momentarily stunned, unable to react.

How did he end up on the sea?

This must be a dream, right?

Saying this, he pinched his arm.

The pain from his arm made Conan grimace, but at that moment, he couldn't bother with the pain.

His wrist, sure enough, the watch on it was gone!!

Suddenly, images began to flash in his mind!

The corridor inside the ship, the blonde waitress, the watch-dart gun...

Conan now remembered what had happened.

"They found me!!"

"But how am I unharmed?"

"What in the world is going on?"

"..."

In an instant, many questions popped into his head.

"Child, are you awake?" Suddenly, a clear female voice came from behind. Conan turned his head and saw a beautiful Western woman with blonde hair and blue eyes!

"Yes." Conan was amazed by her beautiful appearance. After a few seconds, he came back to his senses and quickly said, "Um… may I ask how I ended up on this boat?"

"I'm not sure either. I was just pulled out of the water by that crew member… Perhaps you can ask him." The blonde, blue-eyed beauty pointed to the crew member on the lifeboat.

"Thank you." After thanking her, Conan quickly went over and asked the crew member.

Upon learning that Baishi Hui had sent him onto the boat first, and that they were going to take other boats, his heart felt inexplicably heavy.

He felt like he had dragged others down again!

If only he hadn't rushed out… sigh.

Thinking of this, Conan walked back dejectedly, looking at the other lifeboats on the vast sea, trying to spot Ran and the other two on them.

"What are you looking at?" Just then, the blonde beauty also walked over and asked.

"Looking for my friends…" Conan said with a wry smile, "I hope they're okay."

"Don't worry… I was among the last to get on a lifeboat, and I'm fine. Everyone else must have evacuated safely." The blonde, blue-eyed beauty comforted him.

"Is that so?" Conan breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing this.

He realized he didn't know her name yet and quickly said, "My name is Edogawa Conan. What's your name, Big Akemi?"

"Chris… just call me Chris." Vermouth smiled and ruffled Conan's head, then took out a piece of chocolate from her pocket and put it in his hand, saying, "I have some chocolate, eat something!"

"Thank you, Big Akemi! But I'm not hungry, you should eat it." Conan thanked her for her kindness but still handed the chocolate back.

He then noticed something, turned his head to look into the distance, and said in surprise, "The rescue boat is coming…"

"Huh?" Vermouth turned her head to look, and only after focusing her vision slightly did she spot the rescue boat in the distance, as small as a black dot.

She looked at Conan in surprise, not expecting his eyesight to be so good.

Was it always this good… or… is it this good because he shrank?

Two hours later, several rescue boats arrived successfully and rescued everyone who had fallen into the water.

Conan couldn't find the three of them on the rescue boat and asked the rescuers to inquire with other rescue boats if there was any sign of the three of them.

Upon receiving a negative answer, Conan's heart sank immediately.

Just then, he suddenly heard someone comforting him, "Don't worry… they're fine. I saw the three of them escape on a yacht."

Conan looked up and was surprised to find that the speaker was none other than Rena Mizunashi from Miho Town Radio!

Amidst his surprise, he quickly pressed, "Miss Mizunashi, did you really see them?"

"Yes, I saw them very clearly… The yacht stood out so much among all those lifeboats." Rena Mizunashi couldn't help but sigh at their incredible luck; they managed to get a yacht!

Unlike the two of them, who escaped by holding a diving air tank in their mouths.

"Really?" Conan said with some surprise.

"You can ask others… many people should have seen them," Rena Mizunashi said.

Upon hearing this, Conan quickly went around to inquire.

After hearing others say they saw the yacht, he finally breathed a sigh of relief.

But soon, Conan realized a problem — they had been pushed somewhere by the waves caused by the shipwreck. If they weren't found quickly, they might starve to death at sea.

Thinking of this, he quickly went to find the rescue personnel and asked them to launch a search and rescue operation.

"Mm…"

After Yukiko woke up groggily, she felt a throbbing pain in her forehead.

She instinctively touched it and let out a groan.

"Ow ow ow ow ow…" The pain made Yukiko tremble all over, and her drowsy sleepiness was dispelled quite a bit.

After struggling to open her eyes, she found herself in a room so narrow it could only fit one bed!

"Huh?" Just then, Yukiko noticed something was wrong. She looked down and saw that she only had a blanket on; all her clothes were gone!

She instinctively hugged the blanket, trembling with fear, and a wave of grief and indignation surged in her heart… It's over, I'm impure, I've been defiled, how can I face… wait? No, didn't I get into a shipwreck?

Memories that suddenly surfaced interrupted Yukiko's wild thoughts.

She looked around and saw that Ran was lying next to her… she was also covered with a blanket.

Yukiko lifted the blanket to look and found that the other person was also naked, wearing nothing.

Only then did she breathe a sigh of relief, thinking that Ran had helped her undress.

"Ran, Ran~~~" Yukiko called out softly a few times. Seeing that the other person didn't respond, she didn't disturb her further.

She wrapped the blanket around herself, turning it into a strapless dress.

After tying a knot to secure it, Yukiko nodded with satisfaction. The only problem was that it was still chilly under the skirt.

But that wasn't a big issue; she just needed to be careful.

After checking again to make sure everything was okay, Yukiko left the room and came to a very small lounge that could only seat two or three people.

She saw that besides the room, there were two other doors, so she curiously went over and opened them to look.

One was a single toilet stall, and the other was a storage room.

After closing the doors, Yukiko left the lounge and came onto the yacht's deck.

Looking out, all she could see was the boundless sea.

Looking to the left, there was a row of clothes and underwear hung up, swaying in the wind.

Yukiko quickly spotted her own clothes and underwear.

She then noticed Baishi Hui, wearing only a pair of briefs, counting supplies over there.

"Oh, you're awake." Baishi Hui turned to look at Yukiko and smiled, "I have good news and bad news. Which one do you want to hear?"

"Tell me the bad news first." Yukiko walked over, stepping barefoot on the deck.

"This yacht doesn't have much fuel left, so we can't sail… We can only wait for others to rescue us." Baishi Hui said as he picked up a bottle of mineral water, unscrewed it, and handed it to Yukiko.

"Thank you… What's the good news?" Yukiko took the mineral water and drank a few greedy gulps.

"We picked up some supplies from the sea just now that can last us for several days," Baishi Hui said with a smile.

"Phew… That's great. In a few days, they should be able to find us." Yukiko breathed a long sigh of relief upon hearing this good news.
