YUTA'S POV
"The choice is yours, Yuta. What will it be?" Aria questioned once more, her eyes gleaming with ecstasy, which pulled on my heartstrings.
"Before I answer, I want a detailed rundown of everything one needs to know about this land you speak of" I stated in a bit to clear my curiosity, knowing people I have a feeling there might be more to her tempting offer.
"Of course, the world I speak of is the world of Voltavine, a world just like the one you lived in, except better, there is magic, strange power, kings, queens, and a few creatures you have to slay, that's all..." She mumbled in a hurry.
As she spoke I immersed myself in deep thought. There had got to be some kind of a catch if the reward was going to be an entire new life.
"So what's the catch? How dangerous are this creatures I have to face?" I asked plainly, after moments of deep thought.
"Catch... There is no catch... Why would you think there was a catch...? the creatures aren't dangerous at all there are actually just like dogs... if you get my drift" She said with a nervous laugh, her tone bursting with secrecy, but stopped upon noticing the frown on my face.
"Fine, I will tell you the truth" She gave in with a small sign as she sat on thin air and began speaking, "The thing is Voltavine is in the middle of a Vampwolf inversion"
"Vampwolf inversion???" I ask stunned, my heart skipping a beat.
"You heard right Yuta, there are in the middle of a Vampwolves inversion. Vampwolves are a group of gigantic mystical creatures formed by the merging of a vampire and a crazy Lycan wolf"
Her words made me freeze in my seat, cold chills running down my spine. I barely died and now I have to start a new life in a world where crazy magical beast reigned supreme, and I have to end them? Not a chance.
"Count me out Aria. There is no way I am risking my life for a mission that I have no chance of winning. God should assist you angels to handle those Vampwolves, instead of offering us humans impossible task." I voice, my tone sharp, as a dull ache arose in my chest.
"Come on Yuta, this task is not impossible. Infact, I bet you will like it there, the people are so kind, and generous" She explained but still I remained unphase, "Still not interest" I said, it would take more than a promise of kindness to move me.
"Yuta please reconsider, I can't possible ask God to send more angels cause he kind of assigned me to over seeing that world" She confessed, consequently stunning me. My mouth felt open and my body couldn't move for a second.
I looked up at her, my anger palatable as I gave her a peace of my mind.
"I get it now, you totally slacked on the job didn't you? I get it you are not just lazy, you're extremely stupid"
She glazed back at me with watery eyes as she pretended to be hurt by clutching on to her chest.
"I will have you know, I didn't slack off, at least not on purpose. I had a lot of other things to do" She said but it doesn't manage to thug a single string in my heart.
"Oh really. Tell me what were you so busy with?" I asked and her eyes drastically doubled in size.
"I was protecting... I mean fighting for... There was a day I wanted to...." She stammered and I burst into laughter. Her face broke into worried frown, "In case you are forgetting, I am a heavenly being, I don't have to explain myself to you or anyone else" She yelled, her tone evading.
The look in her eyes says it all, she wasn't busy at all, even if she was, it was with something stupid.
"So Yuta, what's it going to be?" She asked confidently, folding her arms over her chest, "Are you going to accept my offer or not?"
What decision was I supposed to make in that moment, accept her offer or take my chances on the other side, maybe I wouldn't go to hell after all, on the other hand Voltavine was equivalent to commiting suicide, however it could be my only chance of redemption.
I gaze down at my so called guardian angel and she had this smirk on her face, like she was plotting something evil. My decision was made in that moment, I wasn't taking her offer.
"Thank you, but I am going to pass. Send me to the other side" I said, my voice firm.
Aria's smile faded, her voice laced with urgency. "You can't do this to me Yuta. I need you. God is going to be furious with me if I can't get a single human to agree to go down to Valdel for me. Look, I am going to give you a new identity, you are going to be prince Yuji Mitsuya, a tall, handsome prince that all the ladies love. You will be wealthy, plus you can choose anything in this room that can aid in your quest" She said and immediately all sorts of weapons erupted from all around us. The weapons were a thing of beauty, they were magnificent, never before had I ever since such fascinating instruments.
Her offer was tempting, even though she was clearly planning something. Getting the opportunity to wilt anyone of those weapons would be an honor, and the opportunity of trying life in a new skin could be nice.
"There was only one thing that could make this day better, getting a secret weapons and getting back at my so called guardian angel" I thought, a diabolical plan crossing my mind.
"I will take it if you agree to boost my health, magic potential, and promise you would let me take anything of my choosing..." I informed sternly but she cuts in impatiently.
"Done. I promise before God Almighty that whatever you chose would be handed to you" She responded almost immediately, he tone was so sincere that it plagued my attention, "Anything else?"
"Not really" I confessed after a moment of immerse thought.
"Great" She exclaimed as she rose to her feet, and opened a portal, "Now, it's time to whisk you away. Have you decided on what you want to choose from this room?"
"Yes," I said, casually stepping a foot into the portal, a provocative smirk on my face. It was finally time to get pay back on Aria for all the suffering she put me through.
"I chose you Aria" I said my voice drawl as I submerge into the portal, and could see the panic on her face.
"No... No... No... You can't do this to me..." She screamed, trying to grab hold of me, but a blinding light upstrokes her.
I felt my consciousness being pulled away and back together. The sensation was disorienting, and confusing.
When the light finally faded, I found myself standing in a forest clearing, next to a small stream.
I looked down at my hands and gasped in shock. They were no longer the rough, and worn, they were smooth, pale, and delicate.
I touched my face, and my fingers brushed against unfamiliar features. My skin felt smooth, my nose straight, and my lips were full, and narrow in comparison. I ran my hands through my hair, and it felt like silk. It was surreal, my heart was racing uncontrollably from ecstasy.
Quickly, I ran down to the near by stream to check my reflection, and gasped upon seeing my reflection. I gazed down upon a breathtaking man. My hair was white, as white as snows, it ran down my back.
I had never been remotely handsome in my previous life, but in this new body, was stunning. Everything seemed to be in place, my eyes were an enchanting shade of bluish green, my lips were the loveliest shade of pink and best of all my height was impeccable.
My became ajar as I took in my new appearance. In that moment, I felt like a completely different person, despite knowing exactly who was trapped in that body. A sense of excitement filled me.
As I stood there, frozen in awe, a gentle breeze rustled the leaves around me. My new ears picked up sounds I had never heard before – the songs of unfamiliar birds, the rustling of small creatures through the underbrush, and the distant rumble of a waterfall.
I took a deep breath, closed my eyes as I felt the cool forest air fill my lungs. This was a new beginning, a chance to start anew, a chance to get back at those traitors but first I had a new life to explode, vvjust then I heard a howl not too far from me, followed by a warm breeze on my face.
My heart raced, my feet trembled in my state as I forced my eyes open, only to find an outrageous sight. I was met with the largest pair of scary red eyes I had ever seen. It was a wolf like beast, the beast's fur was a dark, mottled grey. Its muscles rippled beneath its skin as it moved closer, its limbs ended in razor-sharp claws.
The creature's face was a twisted blend of lupic and vampiric features, with high cheekbones, a pointed chin, and a nose that seemed to twitch as it sniffed the air. It's two long, curved fangs shined in the day light. That was when I realized what exactly it was, a Vampwolf.
