Chapter 23 - I'll Face It

It was around 4:30 p.m. when Mira and Denial pushed the front door open, yelling, "We're back!"

They froze immediately. A man walked out of the bathroom with a towel over his damp hair, water still dripping down his neck.

Both kids turned red on the spot. In their heads, the same thought hit at once: wow… he's so handsome. Who even is this old man?

The man looked at them, and before they could say anything, he pulled them both into a hug. His face scrunched up like he was holding back tears.

"Ohhh, my great-grandsons," he said, voice trembling. "I can't believe I lived long enough to see you with my own eyes."

Mira and Denial blinked at each other, confused.

That's when Hye-mi walked in from the hall, arms full of folded laundry. "Welcome home," he said, then glanced at the kids. "Oh—you two don't know who he is yet, right?"

The man let go, straightening his shoulders. "I'm your great-grandpa. Hye-mi's grandpa."
