This is completely different from the other day...
Satoru pressed down on his cap and observed carefully.
As for why he pressed it down, the sunlight was a bit glaring.
"Froakie, use a full-power Quick Attack!"
Satoru responded calmly, commanding his Froakie to use Quick Attack.
It moved like a flash of lightning, a current seeming to erupt from the ground as it shot towards Piplup.

Satoru felt a growing excitement. This offense, completely different from the other day, was thrilling him.
Normally, his Froakie could basically only use Quick Attack and Water Pulse against Piplup.
Water Pulse's 60 power + 1.5 STAB bonus, halved by resistance, resulted in about 45 power, just over Quick Attack's 40.
But Satoru didn't like to rely on data for Pokémon battles. It was the unpredictable nature of battles that fired him up.
Froakie leaped into the air, preparing to use its Icy Wind.

That slight difference allowed Froakie to evade the fatal blow. It then quickly closed the distance to Piplup.
