"System, what happened to the wolf?" Levi asked with urgency, panic evident in his voice.
[The wolf's energy could not sustain its evolution and consciousness at the same time, so it was knocked unconscious.]
Levi blinked. He had drunk the evolution potion before, and he did it easily, like drinking soda. Then he remembered he had the infinite core, making his energy limitless.
"I would leave it with evolution, while I do my things."
The first thing he did was create new clones. After 2 breakthroughs, he had 2 clone creation slots.
White light swirled before Levi, then formed in less than 30 seconds. He looked at them for a moment before finally speaking. "Clone 2 and Clone 3, you will join Clone 1 in the pocket dimension," he said, waving his hand.
The clones were sent to the pocket dimension instantly.
"More work power means more yields," he said with a wide grin on his face. "That is settled, I should focus on my cultivation," he said, already getting into the moment.
His eyes shifted towards the wolf again, then he sat on the floor, cross-legged. "System, bring everything the first clone has put in the inventory," he said with a sharp, calm voice.
Soon, herbs, plants, and weapons appeared before Levi's eyes. Levi stared at them, his eyes twitching hard.
"Just these," he muttered. "Well, he barely spent 10 days there," he resigned.
He took two herbs and thought of one skill. "Fuse," he said.
The herbs floated, swirling together like they were in a blender, before releasing a wave of blinding light.
It fell back into Levi's grip slowly.
"The mana in this one is more than twice that of the former two," he said, observing the plant slowly.
"Devour," he finally said.
The herb was sucked into his hands in a flash.
Levi felt energy surge through his body in a massive amount, filling his sigil. Then, in a burst, he broke through to adept stage 5.
A smile bloomed on Levi's face when he saw this. "Fuse," he pointed at the rest of the herbs, fusing them all into one rainbow-colored herb,
Devour was activated immediately, swallowing the herb whole. Levi's body trembled wildly this time as he felt his body break through several layers at once. The ground around him cracked under the terrifying weight of his advancement. The master rank was not called the stage where you shed your mortal skin for no reason.
His body began to float. White light shot out of his eyes, and myriad compartments got strengthened with each passing moment. Then, in a final explosion, his body fell to the ground.
Levi stood up as easily as he fell. He could not be blamed for not staying down; infinite energy had its own perks.
He examined his body carefully, making sure he did not miss any detail. Then a smile bloomed on his face.
'I waited so long for this moment,' he yelled, savage laughter erupting from his mouth.
The thing about the master tier was awakening the mind. At the master tier, a cultivator would start using their mind for psychic abilities.
And another thing was the mind element. At the master tier, a person would awaken a mind element.
"Nightmare element," Levi mused. He awakened the strongest mind element normally, but Levi was not going to settle for less. He was the elemental sovereign, and even the mind elements had to bow to him.
"I am giddy with excitement. I want to try my new power on someone," he said.
He instantly summoned Riven from the inventory.
But what met him was not a warm greeting. "You finally remember me because you want to spar," Riven said, his eyes burning with fire.
Levi raised his two hands. "I remembered you. I only wanted to finish my things before I called you," he said, defensively.
Riven narrowed his brows, knowing Levi lied. But he did not talk anymore.
"Let's go further from here. I don't want us to disturb the wolf's evolution," Levi said as his body began to float. With a push, he was propelled further.
"Show off," Riven scoffed as he flew after Levi, easily catching up to him.
As they landed, they launched. No warning, no words, just blades clashing.
Levi's sword clashed against Riven's daggers, pushing him back slightly. Riven pushed forward, striking from Levi's side. Levi moved his blade to block, but it was a feint.
The second dagger flashed, a sharp thrust at his neck. Levi did not panic; he could go all out here.
Nanites stitched endlessly, creating a hard layer over his skin. The dagger connected, drawing sparks.
Levi jumped back quickly, creating space between them. "Use your mind element," Riven roared.
"What about you?" Levi said with a smirk.
Riven glared at him with a cold gaze. "You think you can handle my element," he said.
"Bring it on," Levi said.
Riven did not respond. He lunged again, arcs of lightning on one dagger, whips of fire on the other.
Lightning streaked across his form as he blurred. Levi steadied his breathing as he waited for the perfect moment.
Riven reached him, swinging his dagger towards his neck once again. Levi moved backwards, dodging the attack, but he underestimated the experience of a veteran. As if anticipating Levi's movement, Riven had already driven his blade towards his knee.
Levi's thousands of compartments flared; his limitless adaptation kicked in as he thought of ways to counter the attack.
Finally, mere inches away from Levi's knees, Riven's blade froze. Time stilled as Levi commanded it.
But it did not hold Riven for long; he broke the constraints. But that was enough for Levi. He drove his fist wrapped in nanites at Riven's stomach, throwing him far away with the force.
Riven stopped, white blood seeping from the side of his lips. He stared at Levi, a smile tugging at his lips.
Levi also looked at him. He knew that Riven was finally getting serious, and he needed to be ready.
"You asked for this," Riven muttered, before blurring.
